Trio Cargo e-bike mid drive

all 3 options are viable
Ummm! seem like TSDZ2B and TSDZ8 can not work at 52V (14S batterie).
''Supports up to 54.6V input voltage, this motor cannot works on 58.4V input voltage''
I end to order a new Bafang core stator including hall sensor for 184$ cad.
I hope this will work as our Cargo is our main vehicle here.

So sad that our motor die during chinese new years holidays. Still no motor.
I've recently read that you need two motors to have a reliable ride. One to move the bike and the second for spare parts.
I start to understand why.

Wait two weeks for the new motor, It don't work.
Well, it turn for 10 seconds and then stop. Restart the SW102 display and it turn for 10 seconds.
I remark 2 things:
1-Motor is really hard to turn by hand. I dismantle the motor and at a moment it was not so hard to turn by hand. Put back the screws and it was impossible to turn. So, I try to put 4 washers/spacer between motor and casting to see if this help: No, it's not easier to turn by hand.
2-Stator wires are way bigger on the new motor when compare to the old motor.

Any clue?
I plan to steal the hall sensor pcb from the new motor to at least repair the old motor.

Tried the old motor with the new hall sensor... turn for 10 sec then stop :oop::rolleyes:
What???
In fact, at speed setting 1 it turn 10 sec and at speed setting 5 it turn for 5 sec. So it's probably relate motor rpm. Like it turn for 100 rotation then stop.
But why? Is someone had never experienced this?

Summary:
-This motor was working since 4 year / over 6k Km.
-Last December, we change controller causes of water ingress.
-We add few more hundred Km with the new controller.
-In January, few random Error 8 happen. Over few days, the motor restart up to the moment the motor refuse to spin.
-Few day ago I install the new motor and hall sensor, then the motor spin for 10 sec and stop. I have to cycle On/Off to restart. WTF?

Oh! This thread lead me to the reason: Bafang BBSHD has started cutting out after a few seconds...
Speed sensor need to be plug and detect a speed. If no, motor stop after few second.

It's really strange to me because 1 year ago we broke the speed sensor and use the bike for few months, without problem, before I take the time to repair it.
That was with the ''old'' original controller. So I bet the software is different in the new controller.
It's really sad that a simple trouble with speed sensor kill the entire motor

I have regular trio cargo bike as well. And want to convert it mid-drive electric.
Following this thread, I see that you ended up modifying your frame to fit BBS02.
Do you think there any other mid-drive motor out there that I can use and doesn't require grinding aluminum?

Where did you grind? Can you send me some pics?
Very well! At least the aluminum cut frame.
The rest of the bike need regular maintenance as it is use 365 days/year and winter in Québec is not soft with bike components.
We are now on the second bafang controller and it start to have some random Error 8 time to time... not good.

I have the DM02. The quality seems pretty good and I really like the way they have made the motor easy to configure.
The torque sensing works well but the settings need a lot of tweaking so you need to be comfortable with that.

The engine pulls OK but is a bit noisy. If I were to do it again I would use the dm01, which I hear should be more quiet and is more powerful. The q factor is annoying to me but should be similar to other retrofit mid drives.

I use the Shimano linkglide chain and casettes 10 speed. Highly recommended!
The chainring on the dm02 is not narrow wide and the chain will fall off in the two lowest gears. The tsdz2 narrow wide chainrings fit and I have ordered one of those from AliExpress.

Feel free to ask any questions.
I have a question:
to fit the toseven DM02 how much of the frame did you have to modify?
Do you have a picture?
(I have a bionx system that I would like to upgrade without too many frame modifications, also considering the TSDZ8)
