Hello friends,

For my design I am in difficulty for selecting the best mosfet for 100V range, I am paralelling and eliminated all to 2 model:
IAUMN10S5N016GAUMA1 - Infineon Technologies
https://www.infineon.com/assets/row/public/documents/10/49/infineon-iaumn10s5n016g-datasheet-en.pdf

And
SQJQ112E-T1_GE3 - Vishay
https://www.vishay.com/docs/79384/sqjq112e.pdf

Both are 100V and have similar current ratings, 296A vs. 310A. Vishay is a bit more affordable, but I don't know if it falls behind Infineon in quality or if there are any other significant differences. What do you think?

Are you using these in a motor controller? Haven't used the Vishay part, but have used OptiMOS 5 parts before in motor controller designs to great effect.

In my opinion, I'd only consider Vishay Siliconix parts in high(er)-power designs prone to (unintended) operation in avalanche if low cost were the overriding concern. For various power designs, I mostly have had better luck with OptiMOS parts. Sad what Siliconix has become in recent decades...

Very valuable reply, thank you.

Yes , I planned to order for my bldc driver.

For 500 pcs Vishay price is 2 usd, Infineon is 2.8 usd. But sure if one board fails under load and fast reverses, there will be no justifiying cost.. :)

Both of those mosfets have fairly comparable specs.

largest difference I can see, the Infineon has an Rds(on)~1.6mΩ, while the Vishay has an Rds(on)~2.5mΩ.
That is enough on resistance difference to pick the Infineon part, if the price/performance is worth it to you.

Another thing to check is parasitic turn-on, this is calculated by dividing the Input capacitance(Ciss) by the Reverse transfer capacitance(Crss).
Both parts have a ratio over ~140, so, given operation in the ~80 volt range(20% headroom for 100 volts), should be fine.

This thread is a wealth of info;
Modular, Multi-Platform, 300A ESC

Cheers!
