scratch steel frame for custom dirt bike

Stainless has its pros and cons. You don't have to paint it, a big pro on a dirtbike where the paint get scratched and worn off. But it is also special to weld and prone to crack. When welding it moves a lot, so you have to plan well how to weld so it stays in place. It also oxidizes badly when...

    Yamaha YZ450F

I have welded up the front tank cover bracket: Then I have played a lot with the rear mounting: I want it to be simple and quick to remove, a problem here is that it doesn't pull down. I think I will make a similar slide in solution that I have in the front. It will probably mean that it...

DIY Car Battery: how to limit the charging voltage?

I guess you don't see 10 of these every day ;) No experiance with Maserati, but on Audi and VW they started showing up on more expensive models in early 2000s, and became more widespread when start/stop became popular maybe 10 years later. If you have something like that you can have charge...

DIY Car Battery: how to limit the charging voltage?

Do you have active regulation of the alternator? I mean if there is an external ecu that controls the alternator. That is usually the case with start/stop systems, and then there is usually a current/voltage sensor on the battery negative. Otherwise the alternators are usually fixed at 14,4V.

    CRF #2 - 250R - LGX P41A 20s1p - EM200

Interesting to really calculate this, when I have done it on prismatics I have used 10mm alu endplates and just put as much pressure on it as I could with a clamp. How are you going to measure?

    Yamaha XS400 - 8000W QS273 - 10kWh Samsung SDI - CL1000 controller

I will be interested to see that Zero build, but I wonder if it really is the most suitable bike for lots of power  Lots of room for battery and a motor position that helps with that, but it sure doesn't seem like the stiffest frame I have seen.. At least if it is the same as the 2011 I...

    Yamaha YZ250F

I have cut off most of the chews that were sticking out now, so I don't think it looks very attractive to dogs anymore 😬 It is a super soft tire, this has done like 5 hours or something. I'm not ready to change it yet, but it is soon time to flip it around to change direction ;) The track is...

    Yamaha YZ250F

A damn flat again: On the wheel with tubeliss, so I guess I will try to plug it like that as it was just a small hole. The plan was to use this wheel in a competition next weekend, maybe I should rethink 🤔 It is nice to be able to set the pressure for the type of riding I will be doing, but...

Honda CRF 250 to Honda CRE Build QS138 70h EBMX Amorge

Nice build :-) That FX throttle looks nice, might be interesting to try. But I am rather happy with the surron throttle I use now. I think I actually would want slightly shorter twist than it has though, I for sure don't want longer twist.. It is more aggressive than the ones I have had before...

Tony Shifter Kart with SIA 155-64 Hairpin Motor

Cool build, you can probably find info about the self learn in the fardriver thread: Nanjing far driver controllers Otherwise there is probably something in my yamaha yz250f thread somewhere late 2022. I dont really remember myself how it was done, but I think you basically started it and held...

    Yamaha YZ250F

I didn't have time to repair the rear before installing the suspension, so I did it later: This scuff mark started to be a bit much, so I repaired it: I cut out a piece and mounted it a little lower to give some extra room. The plan was to grind down the weld so it wouldn't be very...

Importance of isolation in motor phase circuit

When you have an isolated system you need to get in contact with both positive and negative to get electrified. When you have common ground you are probably already in contact with the ground and only need to get in contact with the positive. (You seem to understand this, it is more for other...

I haven't updated this for a long time.. Mostly because nothing have happened 🙁 I have got some alu to start welding as soon as I find some time for it at least.
