I am. I’ve designed and been 3D printing TPU gaskets to go all around the exterior where the body panels will attach. I’m also going to be isolating the battery compartment from everything else. If this is a space you have experience in, pointers are always welcome!

Family vacation to Myrtle Beach last week but I’m back at it. I spent time dialing in the software for the joystick to controller interface and I’m really happy with it. It steers both motors just fine now. I’ll tweak it more to my liking later but I can say that it works.
I ordered a horn...
I put everything together to test fit. I have a little more room than I expected, so that’s probably good. I mounted the motors and am going to leave them while I debug the joystick software so the motors don’t jump away from me.
Finding drive sprocket and hub combos is proving to be a...
Is this link what you’re looking for? Ive had a to-do since may to bug an arduino compatible reader for the EM-150, still something I plan to do once I get some other parts of the project so be.

It sounds like you have an answer you want already and are looking at how to implement it. By the time you’re done building this, I would expect the cost to be higher than selling off what you have and buying a 6kw rear wheel setup.
Keep in mind motors are also generators, so if you put a...
Far and away the biggest lesson learned that I’m going to take into my next project is this: whenever I design and build my own frame and body panels, I’m going to etch the outlines of where everything goes into all the body panels when I laser cut them. I measured and measured and measured...
Today I welded the frame back together after installing the motor mounts. I designed the outer panels and started plasma cutting those.

Hahaha! We have four birthdays in the last two weeks of June, so it’s been a lot of time wasted on that :)
I took a half day Monday for some grinding and welding. I made a mistake and needed to correct, then started tapping the frame for the motor mounts. I’m taking the day off tomorrow to...
Schools out so we had trips and a family sick spell, so not much to update until today. I spent a few hours grinding all the welds down. Nice and smooth now, so I can start putting panels in and attach the motor mounts

I took the day off today and am working on this beast. I got the motor mount holes corrected (too narrow) and mounted and am using it to place the frame rails that it will mount to. About to start a lot of welding. Wish me luck.

I do want it to be able to pull you up a mountain if you want to test uphill skiing. All joking aside, I’m aiming for something with a lot of juice behind it!

Cut and tack welded the frame today. Next up is to complete the welds and mount the motors. I’m still fiddling with how I want the motor mounts to work. Once everything is in and secure then I’ll dial the software in on the controller.
It’s looking more and more like a 90’s era battlebot, but...
