    --> Kelly KEB Controller + Motorino Xpn

    No point in the high speed with the motorino motors. The motor you use has to be specifically designed to take advantage of that, and the motorinos use a different kind of high torque motor.

    ➡ Installed Kelly/KEB Controller w Regen in my Motorino XPn

    Have to look at that when I next open the bike. It's a beast to take all the panels off, so I do it only when need to. Right panel won't show much, the controller has to be mounted at the rear because of size, so the wiring is best seen from there.

    ADVICE? -> 72V 30Ah LifePo4 Battery/BMS Specs

    That's kinda what I thought, too. Thanks for the rec! :mrgreen:

    You know, I should have - but I actually hired a mechanic to do mine for me because I'm not an expert there. I can put you in touch with him, if you'd like! He's got a tonne of experience working on Motorinos and is an electrical engineer as well. I'll send you a PM. :)

    ADVICE? -> 72V 30Ah LifePo4 Battery/BMS Specs

    So today, a vendor on aliexpress told me that a 72v 10A aluminum intelligent charger I was looking at would only charge a 72v30ah (lifepo4) pack to 90%, but that a 72v 5A charger would charge it to 100% - does that make any sense to anyone? I can't fathom it... he's the only vendor that's said...

    Ya, it always growls a bit, but with the Kelly, and the noise reduction checkbox left off (for the most torque), it sounds a bit like a gas bike on takeoff! ;)

    amberwolf, you are made of awesome. Thank you! :D She runs at about 40A/continuous on the cycle analyst and goes to 61 when necessary for torque. I've posted in my LiNiCoMnO2 battery question thread to ask for recommendations. You are all so generous with your time, so grateful.

    LiNiCoMnO2 Battery Question

    You folks are ALL insanely brill on this subject, THANK YOU all for taking the time to share your wisdom. So for this gal, who is neither granny nor the kind of person who can assemble a 10ah 88.8V pack out of 12 x 5ah packs either :lol: - I'm going to ask for your suggestions. I'm shopping...

    LiNiCoMnO2 Battery Question

    Thanks. I read the thread, but to be honest, some of it does go over my head a bit. Basically what I want to know is - if a LiNiCoMnO2 battery is discharged by mistake (who knows what might happen, hypothetically), and I plugged the bike in to charge it (not knowing the battery was discharged)...

    LiNiCoMnO2 Battery Question

    Forgive my ignorance. I don't know much about battery chemistry. I've heard that Lithium Cobalt batteries turn into little fire-bombs if they're discharged too much and then one attempts to charge them up again (boom). But I've seen a number of LiNiCoMnO2 (Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt...

    ➡ Installed Kelly/KEB Controller w Regen in my Motorino XPn

    For anyone interested, we successfully installed the Kelly KEB controller in my Motorino XPn. Couple of things we discovered: Pros: + Amazing smoothness of ride and glide-like accel/decel - unreal - still playing with the programmable settings to see where I like it best. + The 60A...

    Motorino motor upgrade?

    I've got an XPn as well, and a slight voltage upgrade. I ride about 40km distance per day (20km each way to work and back) on it. The thing about the Motorino stock motors I found out from an engineer who works on them routinely, is that they will actually do 1800W at 48V. That's why they're...

    How to measure controller shunt resistance for CA?

    Ditto on this. That's what we did when we installed my CA a few weeks ago. We didn't know what to set it at, either, so used a 10A DVM and measured a smaller current. It works perfectly. :D

    ADVICE? -> 72V 30Ah LifePo4 Battery/BMS Specs

    After riding for a while with the new controller in, I can see on the CA that it's using 61.7 Amax. Definitely need to order a battery rated for 60A continuous.

    --> Kelly KEB Controller + Motorino Xpn

    After riding about 20Km on it this morning I can say that (initial 0-2mph low speed growl aside), it has a very smooth ride. I need to figure out how to get the throttle to engage immediately though, it takes a couple seconds now which could be for smoothness sake, but when you want an...
