UKC1 brake prompt display

Is it actually braking? Meaning, is the motor disabled, or actively locked or creating drag (regen)?

Or is it just an icon on the display, and the rest of the system is functioning normally?

There is no brake drag. The icon is preventing throttle response. More findings: I connect the battery directly to the controller (no contactor attached) and the icon is gone and this is without the brake lever sensors connected. With the brake lever sensors the brake prompt reappears. Is this an internal controller issue? Thank you for your help.

Can you post a pic of the controller label. QS 205 V203 is a motor, not a controller.

Did it run before and stop working, or is this a new install? Are you using the “low brake” connectors for your levers?

The bike worked before using the low brake with the battery direct to controller. I wanted to add 12v accessories, e.g. horn, taillight, headlight so I configured battery > DC-DC converter > contactor with switch before the controller. New findings 2: With the battery direct to controller with the low brake, the brake prompt is present. Disconnecting the low brake connection the brake prompt is gone. Appears that the low brake in the controller is fried. I will try hooking up the 12v high brake and see if this works. If this doesn't then I'll just configure a mechanical rear brake sensor for the taillight. Keep you posted.

Wha'ts powering the contactor coil? If it's powered from the c ontroller's low voltage output, it might be taking so much current that it drags the voltage down and the controlelr errors out.

Contractor is powered through battery through dc-dc step down through a 12v switch.
