Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

FYI My Ride is still running a decade later with the eBikeKit.com setup! Today I finally blew 2 of my 4 22v Turnigy Packs and decided to change up my power system. Lightening it up to a 2 x 10S 4500 37v Zippy Packs in parallel. With older age comes shorter trail rides so I really dont need...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

The e-bikekit is still running strong. With the NRS I do notice increased frame flex on dirt hills when Im pedaling up w/assist. You may want to take a look at the geared hubs to save on weight. As for which manufacturer to go with I can not speak for amp... e-bikekits was very complete and...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

I would have loved to be able to cram in 2 6S1P packs Side-by-Side for a 66V10AH configuration but alas the bag is too narrow. The Hi-powerCycles short frame bag doesn't appear to handle anything much wider than a 6S1P & 3S1P side-by-side.

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

HI-POWERCYCLES "SHORT" FRAME BAG INSTALL COMPLETE. Stuffed to the brim with 15S2P 10AH 55.5V 4 22.2v + 2 11.1V Lipo Packs. The Rear Shock was just touching and didnt want to risk lipo puncture so I use one of the rear straps to pull the bag Upward. Initial tests are good! The frame bag...

Ewwww, I did consider that and started looking for the roll of black stuff I have arround someplace but I'm Sorry, Duct Tape will be my Last resort. It's just Sooooooo Ghetto looking!

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

*SIGH* your all right.... Whatever a manufacturer quotes for weight handling should be cut by 8th! 7-10lbs of Lipos dropping 1 foot turns into 20lbs on impact! Since the NRS1 has a straight top tube, I went ahead and ordered a 99  short(for FS bikes) frame bag from Hi-Power Cycles...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

WARNING!!! The DynaPack WILL NOT WORK for E-Bikes. After 2 weeks the aluminum ring itself has fatigued and is starting to SAG towards the wheel! It may be fine for casual street riding at 36V but NOT FOR OFF ROAD "AT ALL". Really sucks, because I liked how it didnt stick to far...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

Had a little mishap today 8miles in with the Dyna pack. Apparently the REAR reflector flap not pictured here was NOT FASTENED. The Velcro gave way and the pack fell into the tire...

That looks great, would defiantly apply to any 4pivot design.. I really like the Adjustable aspect of it. When my Lyen 12F comes in I'll be shamelessly plagiarizing your work....

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

Interesting idea...... I have a blacksmith near my work, I can probably show him this picture and see what he can do. If I can find a machine shop, I bet I can get a plate crafted that SITS in the exposed triangles. Then I only need to use the single shaft bolt, and the torque...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

I'll try to do a longer dirt ride this weekend but the e-bikekit controller has a 22A limiter so the batteries last much longer than my wifes ebay 500w controller..... I took a quick 5mile ride around my area (4mi city 1mi dirt), brought the bike into work and let the guys here play with it for...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

Thanks jlustig83, its not too bad having the torque arm pointing downward like this then. If it went the other way I'd probably be in big trouble. :(

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

I did some casual hard pack here in California and didnt notice the extra rear weight much until I did the occasional mini jump. The Extra 12lbs of rim was interesting and I'll need to tighten up these spokes.... Odd but the landings seamed softer? Probably me being more careful(I'll need to...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

The DynaPack is lighter/shorter than traditional rear seat racks. Once my local trails dry back up, I'll let you know how this fat arse mod effects my riding.... 12S2P 10AH! I had to pick up 4 packs of metal washers at Home Depot. I'm still half a washer away from true center. Maybe I...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

Stumbled on a TOPEAK-DynaPack! ($39-59) They can Easily support my 12S2P and "Maybe" my 18S2P... It's small and rated for a 10lb capacity (Turnigy 12S2P 10AH pack is under 7lbs). I dont trust the plastic quick release so'll I'll probably be adding some Velcro supports (maybe some DucTape...

Giant NRS FS 55.5v E-Bikekit build. (IN FRAME BAG!)

I think anyone with a year of LiPO experience and can recognize when to dispose of a tired pack can easily make the switch. It's the guy that knows his pack(s) is/are dieing but tries to get those last few flights/rides in that needs to take extra care. Turnigy 5000mAH 25C-35C (125A/175A) can...

    ZIPPY 5Ah 6S 15C batteries

    Here is a 7.5" x 4.5" x 4.5" 10AH 44.4V Turnigy pack I built up with deans connections. 4 x 5000Mah 22.2v 6S1P 25C packs (they peak at 25.2volts off the charger). split into 2 in parallel packs and then seriesed those for 44.4v nominal (51V peak).

    My Stink-E

Yup... The sexiest e-stinky...... errrr; "STINK-E" on endless-sphere PERIOD..... You really need to detail those side panels bro (as in give us the step by step)! :? PS. Put a Gopro on that rig and show us what you got

    First all electric motorhome

Very Nice! Wouldn't you know they would put the 1st all electric power plant, in the biggest, heavyset, Class A they could find... Now if they dropped that system into a sub 25,000lbs Class A/C, they would get much more interest, not to mention a nice MPG bump for the papers.....I...

    Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway now A123 build

We'll wait for 1000w's take on his choice but I've been riding an a non-electric NRS1 for several years and its not a puffy ride. Giant NRS is an ultra light FS Racing Frame 1st. They do great in urban settings with softening the occasional sidewalk/pot-hole hits. If your looking for Puff/Plush...

    My Stink-E

lol, Stink-E; I like that (STINK'E, STINK'e, and other variants)... I can't wait to see how you made that Battery Tray and side skinz. I'm converting a Giant NRS1 and we have similar frame geometry. On the battery discussion, now that I think about it I bet those 24v packs are actually 2 22.2V...

    My Stink-E

Great Skinz! You're covering your logo though... Get some spray templates from harbor freight and paint E-STINKY on each side :P 2 x 24v 10AH Lipo's in series = 48V 10AH. Your pictured cells don't look big enough for 10AH.... What Brand of Lipo's did you buy/build? How does it look when...

    On-off switch requirements

Trying to find an actual picture without any luck so I wiped this up in Google ScetchUP... How about this idea for a Spark Killer switch? The BLUE connector would be one of those white block like 20W Ceramic resistors. Since the positive pole will ALWAYS be HOT thanks to the 20W resistor...
