My DD Crystalite is noisier than my geared Mac

It is the spokes. I can't believe I didn't notice that earlier. 24" rim, large hub, and 12g spokes: Bad combo, It isn't possible to achieve spokes' proper tension. Buyer beware. Happy holidays!!

My DD Crystalite is noisier than my geared Mac

Well, that makes lots of sense I have bent spokes all over that wheel.

My DD Crystalite is noisier than my geared Mac

It is a squeaky type noise like if it was a dried out bushing coming from the axle area. Anyone knows what this is/how to address it? Thanks.

    TDCM DD-hub/IGH hybrid

Interesting concept, seems like the natural integration. More expensive for sure, gotta pay for all that R&D.

    600cc ebike. What?

Well afaik, speed is directly related to the $ize of the battpack and that's the limitation: $$ Budget: around $2000 Fabrication abilities: I think I can do everything but welding. The frame is steel, indeed. Not sure how heavy it is. So you say motor on the swing arm, I see plenty of room...

    Stealth Bomber Rear Rim Reference

All the Stealth rims Ive seen are 24", non marked. It seems they protect their sources. But it just looks like a beefy downhill rim. I'm actually gonna be visiting a downhill shop tomorrow because I'm looking for 2 myself. I'll let you know if I find a suitable replacement.

    Bicycle tire patch kit

First time I see it. $25 for the patchnride novelty huh? I guess, if it made me feel safer I'd carry one as a safety precaution. It looks to me like the tire can't be completely deflated in order for the device to work so a co2 thingy would be a nice addition to it. I used to carry all the...

    600cc ebike. What?

 Thanks man that means a lot especially coming from you. This may be a very valid point that I had completely missed. Hopefully, the suspension is tunable and I don't have to make the whole thing heavier than it needs to be in order to compensate. afaik, the VIN number is on the...

    600cc ebike. What?

Thanks for chiming in guys, all criticism is well taken. I'm aware of the role the engine plays in bringing the frame together. If reinforcing/completing it isn't an option, I don't see why can't the whole frame be replaced. Maybe in the vein of drunkskunk's monster bike (gotta love that...

    600cc ebike. What?

Hello awesome community, I have recently got a newer model Yamaha 600 rolling chassis with the intention of electrifying it. Since wheels, brakes and suspension are 99.9% I'd like to use them with minimal to no modification. For that reason, I'd like a mid drive setup. But wait, is this even...

Long tail full suspension bolt-on frame

Ha ha. Feeling the bumps less thru your ass gotta b a good thing..i guess ya, the moment when u realize "it's alive" is epic!

Long tail full suspension bolt-on frame

I agree. I'm leaning towards cheapo pitbike shock and lower the rear wheel to 20" max. A smaller scooter wheel could be even better on getting a low cargo deck.

Long tail full suspension bolt-on frame

Frank's alive! I'm happy to report that the bike works. The rear suspension with the cheapest "shock" possible works great. Geometry seems similar to original. Still need to iron a couple of kinks but it should be ok. I'm looking forward to installing the rear rack, load it and fine tune the...

    fat sand bike conversion

If u like the way the hub works in the front, keep it there. It's a lot simpler and you get to keep the IGH. In order to get more power, you'll need a different controller and more battery. 36v 9ahr is not gonna cut it. Only thing I don't like about that course of action is the way that...
