    In China

Kingfish, Did you get a chance to visit the Gardens or Canals in the Suzhou's "old city" area? I was there back in 2005. I was not on Business so I mainly remember the canals and some interesting local dishes. I stayed in a canal side hotel for a few nights. It was actually more like a room...

Can epoxy withstand the torque of a hub motor axle?

Is the drive side = to the disk side? Sorry for my total newb question:  It must be, because it ts the short axle side. So why is that called the drive side?

Can epoxy withstand the torque of a hub motor axle?

That is probably the best answer. All of my broken axles are likely related to the fact that I am using the adapter threads as TA's. Like you said, I probably should design a TA that is separate from the adapter on the non-disk side but that will require that I mill flats into the axle (see OP...

Can epoxy withstand the torque of a hub motor axle?

For my first eBike I decided to go with a 2WD from components. So far I have snapped 1 rear and 2 front axles, all within a few 100 km. I have the problem with the rear axle solved. Now I need to design a solution for the front 20mm axle-fork. Follow the various views of design below you will...

    Single-speed e-bike?

I went with a SS on my first eBike and I have a CST Bafang. I am very happy with the setup. I try to get myself to pedal on starts and up hills, but I usually just floor both throttles and sit there. I don't want gears unless I go with a mid-drive. Still need a chain tensioner.

My first eBike build: DH 2WD in China

I would like to make a non-hub build but the 2WD is a blast. I really do have to address my wire routing. I will get to it later  Increasing the axle diameters would require a non standard bearing ( I think) or making new side covers. I prefer to get a motor with larger axles next...

    Bomb proof my axle

How to remove the front wheel: 1) Remove the forks. 2) Remove the fork brace adapter. 3) Remove the 2 TA's 4) Remove the flange adapters. They are threaded and have wrench flats. Wheel is off!

    Fork brace seems unnecessary

My first eBike build: DH 2WD in China

She is running again. I went for a 20km ride and decided to check the axles for any sign of trouble. I found all the nuts were no longer tight. I checked them several times before the ride. So new moters must have the bearing not fully pressed in. I suspect that contributed to why my axles...

4WD Electric Off-Road Recumbent Pedal Assist "E-Bike" Build

Thanks for the images. Are the images you posted of your "full 3D CAD model"? I would really like to see the 3D model of the suspension area including the drive, steering, and brake components. If the model does not have those components yet, can you post a sketch?

I am about to buy this bike, ES'ers rip it apart please.

I just saw a bike at probike in Hong Kong that I thought was a the Vangaurd in this post. Actually it is a similar frame from a different bike brand, and no fat wheels. Anyways, I thought this bike looked cheap (top pic). That same bike brand "doppleganger' had one bike at the shop that looked...
