    Looking inside a Boosted Board

We're working on getting them to paris! It's flat braided cable, like http://www.alcoltd.com/copper-braid-images/copper-braid-pvc-sleeved.jpg or http://www.maneywire.com/images/products/Tinned%20Copper%20Braid.jpg

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

Battery is attached with six security Torx screws that are loctited into threaded metal inserts. Battery wires are soldered to the battery and soldered to the ESC on either side of the deck. No tracks for the wiring. Flat and wide for current capacity while maintaining a low profile, all...

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

We've gotten as much as 9 miles from it with gentle usage, but it's no fun then :)

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

The remote battery lasts multiples of one charge of the board battery. You can't connect a 12S 3.2V/cell BMS to a 10S 3.7V/cell BMS without modifying both hardware and software. The board will not work without the BMS.

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

Yeah having a real warranty is way different (cost and logistics) from having people fix it themselves.

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

Battery wires are power, ground, and two for serial. The charge current is limited not by the wire gauge but by the BMS charge circuit. Cells are A123. What do you want a spare battery for? :) Truck spacers are needed for drivetrain-deck clearance. Heavier riders will compress the...

That's what happens when you have to have a warranty :)

    Looking inside a Boosted Board

Haha, if you have questions, just ask! Actually, I'll be in Vancouver next week for work - want to meet up? Pediglide, motor encoders are hall rotary encoders, not optical.

Weight Sensing Longboard with Inline Wheel Motors

Oh well now that's just not fair :) The Boosted one is both current-limited and speed-limited.

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

That's ideal, but you also have to take into account how the battery is mounted and connected. Our batteries are soldered in and attached with loctite on the screws. That keeps the physical battery and the connection from coming loose due to vibration, shock, etc. Great for reliability and...

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

10-12 miles skating on a sidewalk sounds pretty rough to me, honestly. I have lots of friends who use e-bikes for that distance but we're also lucky to have good bike lanes around SF. San Antonio (I used to live in Dallas) is less bike friendly. We're always looking at improving battery...

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

We usually see about 14-22 watt-hours per mile with our setup.

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

Haha, ok, just checking. Might be the first time I've heard someone say it accelerates too slow :) Also, I have to say it... please wear at least a helmet. I'm really comfortable on electric boards after riding for years and I still wear one every ride. It's personally saved me a few times.

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

Thanks for the review! Which mode are you riding in? The torque and speed you describe sound more like beginner mode than what the board's limits are.

Boosted Boards Offering New Models, Lowers Price of Original

I know it seems that way, but we've actually been spending this time getting our parts, especially electronics and batteries, very reliable and our supply chain and manufacturing to be strong yet low cost. We're also working on improving the boards, of course. I would love to meet up for a...

Boosted Boards Offering New Models, Lowers Price of Original

Sorry, meant that we have yet, I think, to charge anyone for fixing a warranty-covered issue past the warranty period. And we also usually cover round trip shipping so the customer pays nothing. Over time I expect warranty periods will increase.

    Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

We built it, and it was not very good. It was one of those designs that seemed like it would be a great idea, but when we rode with prototypes, it was worse than the remote we currently ship with. All of us and our test riders preferred a remote that was sturdy, slim but not so small you'd...

Boosted Boards Offering New Models, Lowers Price of Original

Appreciate it. If you're local, we should go for a ride sometime! We are pretty generous about our warranty and the board is already bulletproof. If you know anyone who is unhappy with the build quality, reliability, or service response, I would love to talk to them. And yeah...

Geez, I was just going to read all the snarky comments about us as usual, but comparing us to Blackberry is going too far!
