Narrowed to 2 kits and 2 batteries, help me choose which :)

Ok so apparently hub motors are the oldschool and mid drive kits are where it's at now... Plus someone else recommended i go mid drive if I'm on a 29er... This is apparently the most powerful mid drive kit on the market: https://lunacycle.com/bafang-bbshd-1000w-middrive-kit/ Do you guys think...

Narrowed to 2 kits and 2 batteries, help me choose which :)

The motor i was looking at with the leaf bikes is 1500 watts, and the battery outputs 30A continuous, so its more like 1450 watts. I won't need to do 40 all the time, matter of fact I'm probably going to scrap my 40mph idea, i'm going to opt for 30mph. Would this kit be enough to do 30mph...

Narrowed to 2 kits and 2 batteries, help me choose which :)

I was looking for a rear hub kit for a 29er bicycle. I wanted the kit to be able to go at least 40mph and the battery HAS to be mounted on the frame of the bike (no rack batteries). I looked for the absolute largest capacity battery that was possible to fit on the frame, looks like water bottle...

Best bang for your buck Electric Conversion kit company?

Any company but dillenger. My bike just got stolen, I had an electric conversion kit i bought form dillenger and I don't EVER WANT TO BUY FROM THEM AGAIN... If you're curious why, I built an entire website explaining it: http://www.dillengerelectricbicycles.com/ Anyways, I'm basically looking...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

You're assuming something. You moved this thread based on an assumption of where you think it might go vs where it is. I was never going to attack anyone personally, I was asking dillenger to replace my battery with the solution that they came up with, and that's where the thread is heading...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

Ah yes, the bars can be as sturdy as possible, but where it will fail will be the joins and solder points, if those aren't secure then they will fail... anywhere where there can be any vibration outside of the frame itself without a ridiculous amount of support will fail. Also look at...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

Hey dillenger, how about you send me one of these "Hardcase" battery packs since that is the solution that you came up with and I'll go ahead and send back my 10AH battery back? I can make the exchange at your local distributor, the battery hasn't been used past the points where your rack...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

The bicycle I installed it on is not a full suspension bike, it only has suspension in the front part of the bike. The battery is a 10AH battery and its pretty damn heavy. The problem is that LA's streets aren't exactly the best paved, so the ride is bumpy. The problem with dillenger's racks is...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

I listed all the reasons why people may not contact you about the racks on my website... The point is you yourself recognized that there is a flaw with them and that they need to be replaced. You guys went as far as to design a whole new solution for the problem and deploy it... Why do you...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

That's not my primary concern. My primary concern is that you promised me (and everyone that is having this issue) something, and you don't seem to want to fulfill that promise, On top of that (and besides the point of the promise), you provided an unlimited 12 month warranty on the parts that...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

well, you promised you would develop and give to me a free replacement to my rear rack that broke twice within months of purchase, are you saying that you won't be doing this at all? Because right now giving me a spec list for a rack that I can give to a machine shop falls very very far from...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

A long time ago I posted this thread: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=66491&p=1001228&hilit=blackjackel#p1001228 I was so pissed off I made a whole website about it: http://www.dillengerelectricbicycles.com Long story short, i bought a kit from dillenger, the battery...

What kind of disc brake pads (do you/should I) use?

I thought I'd post my findings. I did some more googling and these results do NOT take into account electric bike use (faster braking speeds..etc.) but I thought I'd mention them anyways. I found these links: http://stores.ebay.com/International-Bike-Disc-Brake-Pads/About-Compounds.html...

If availabe wouldyou buy a triangular frame-mounted lockbox?

If it existed, would you buy one? How much would you be willing to pay for one? Maybe if enough demand is shown, a manufacturer would step up and produce it. I've been doing some pretty hardcore googling trying to find a metal aftermarket lockbox that's triangular shaped that can be mounted on...

Using step down converter / transformer: USB, charge phone?

I have a few systems on my bicycle that I would like to integrate into my battery, like: My headlight, the ability to charge my phone, and the ability to charge other USB items on the bicycle.... Has anyone used a step down transformer to turn something like 48v-52v down to 5v and used it to...

    How does regen work?

I had no idea that regenerative braking was possible on electric bikes till today. I did a search of the wiki and a quick forum search and was surprised to find no singular post talking about the basics and how it works ( I may be bad at searching though). Anyways... As I understand...

Has anyone ever gotten their battery tested for capacity?

Very cool! I think I will definitely get one of these, but probably one of the standalone versions mentioned below.... I'm weary about placing it as a dashboard as I lock my bike out in public a lot and it's quite easy to steal those things because you can just unplug them.... I think I'll start...

What kind of disc brake pads (do you/should I) use?

Today my disk breaks started squealing that familiar squeal that happens when my car breaks are on their last legs, sounds like I need need new disc brakes. I googled and found my breaks to be DSK-400's and i found the site that sells them. My dilemma arose when I found three separate types of...

Dillenger electric screwed me over, don't buy from them.

It would be awesome if you can answer any of the following questions (explanation below, in short Dillinger has not received many complaints for their rack failures despite them being extremely inadequate in my experience (2 failures) ): What kit do you have? The 1000w or the 1500w and with the...
