Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

Also, I thought this would be important to mention... I haven't been able to discover the root of the problem as I haven't had a chance to rewire the batteries directly to the anti spark switch to bypass the BMS. However, I charged it up last week. It stopped charging after 24.5V, discharged...

Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

The only part of the board that get hot is the ESC which is directly under the heatsink. Both the batteries and the BMS do not heat up. But I don't see how the ESC could be causing discharging malfunctions. Your anti spark switch gets stuck on? What do you mean?

Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

Not that I know of. I checked the website specs (barely existed), and saw nothing on a cycling function. But I will look into buying a new charger with such function if that turns out to be the problem. I do. I use anti-spark connectors along with torqueboards anti-spark switch circuit.

Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

Update: After disconnecting the balance lead connector to the BMS, the board stopped discharging on its own. However, after riding for about 15 minutes, the batteries died at 23.5V, instead of the usual 20.9V. Does this mean my batteries are messed up?

    Eboard V2: Clu - Complete

Thanks! It was going strong up until about a week and a half (or so) ago. The batteries started discharging much more rapidly then before and the voltage at which the batteries "die" went from being 20.9V to 23.5V. This is significant because my batteries only charge to 24.5V. I don't know if...

Motor Mount for 9" Gullwing Charger trucks

There is no off the shelf motor mount that I know of. I had similar, if not the exact same trucks on my first eboard, which was a conversion. It was tricky as I had to mill away at the actual trucks to make things work. If I were you, I would go ahead and buy some caliber II trucks if you plan...

Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

That's a really good idea. Once I get home tonight, I'll give that a shot. If it is the BMS, then it'll be a simple swap to fix it. However, I hope to find out what caused the BMS to malfunction in the first place. I'll update the thread once I give your test a shot. Thank you!

    Intermittent VESC - NYKO

That's the one! In my opinion, it's significantly more reliable. But at the end of the day, it's your call.

    Intermittent VESC - NYKO

From my experience, the Nyko/wiiceiver combo have unreliable communication/signal between each other. I've never used it with the VESC, but on my first board, it would lose connection in a city environment and then shoot out from under my feet. I found it to be way too risky and unreliable to...

Eboard drastically discharging on it's own

Hello, I've been riding my new board for a decent chunk of the summer and still getting a few rides in during the fall. However, as of late, I have noticed that my board dies at a much sooner voltage than it used too. Quick Specs: 6S - 5000mAh (6 separately wired batteries, not in packs) 60A...

Soft Latching Switch for Anti Spark Circuit

This is awesome! I'm really grateful that you're going to post a schematic because I could never do something like this myself and have wanted to incorporate this into a new board. Please keep this thread updated

    Eboard V2: Clu - Complete

Wow, thanks for all the kind words everyone! Haha, thanks a lot! The ESC is actually the 120A 6S ESC that Torqueboards sells on his website. To fit into the board, I had to take it apart and rewire the pins that went from the top half of the board to the bottom. I bought the boards in 2 sizes...

    Eboard V2: Clu - Complete

Thanks a lot! I just took it through Chicago and all that needs to be done is locking some threads with blue Loctite thread lock :D Also, I'm a huge fan of your builds, Whitepony.

    Eboard V2: Clu - Complete

Hi again, I really enjoy this forum and am trying to be a more frequent poster, however, the only thing I can contribute are builds and lots of pictures. I started this build somewhere in February or March. I wanted build something that I knew would be reliable as well as aesthetically...

Is this something I should be worried about?

I really appreciate the help! I'm taking it to the city (Chicago) for the first time. The roads aren't the best, but I think I'll manage. Thanks again!

Is this something I should be worried about?

Hello everyone, I was repairing/modifying my pulleys today, and after putting the entire motor assembly back together, I tried running the motor. As it ran for a couple seconds, it came to an immediate hault...almost as though there was blockage. I opened up the motor to find a little piece of...

    2.4Ghz Mini Remote

Does the receiver require a separate power source? Or do you just plug in the ESC? IIRC, some receivers require a BEC? Matt

    2.4Ghz Mini Remote Control Connectivity/Reliability

I was hoping to hear that! Please update on how it runs on the EZRUN. I plan to use it with Torque boards 6S ESC. Kinda straying away from the topic, but is anyone familiar with BMS's?

    2.4Ghz Mini Remote Control Connectivity/Reliability

Thanks for the responses. I'm really happy to hear that you both have had no connection issues. Did the one from Ali Express take long to get done? Has anyone taken off the wheel on the side? Does it interfere with the comfort of holding the remote? What ESC do you guys use on your boards...

    2.4Ghz Mini Remote Control Connectivity/Reliability

Hello, For those of you with the 2.4Ghz mini remote control, how do you like it? Have you had a single connection drop out? I'm getting fairly tired of struggling to control my nunchuck and wiiceiver when it decides to drop connection and go full speed from under my feet. I can't risk such a...

    e-skateboard with wiiciver issue

I'm not sure if this will work, but you can try calibrating the wii remote. I don't remember how it's done, but a quick search in the search bar should help you find the steps in doing so. Good luck!

    Removing FVT 120A ESC Fan?

Unfortunately, I have no way of measuring how much power I'm using. I plan on incorporating one into my next board. But I go off of touch with the enclosure that is around it, and sometimes, through the wiring, the enclosure gets a tad warm...and that's with air ventilation. So if I were you, to...

    Removing FVT 120A ESC Fan?

I took off the fan on my FVT and it seems to be doing fine. It's not fully enclosed, so it gets a lot of air. Keep in mind that you'll have to cut the wires and resolder if there are already connectors at the end of them. Good luck! :) Matt
