New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi all, I am sorry if my question already has an answer here. I've recently resumed using my TSDZ2 ebike and I would like to upgrade the firmware to the opensource one by casainho and others, and I also have the material to build the custom display described here...

EasyDIY OpenSource display for EVs: TSDZ2 and Bafang M500/M600 EBike motors

Hi all, this probably a newbie question (as I was told there are no silly questions). I received my nrf52840 dongle, and it looks exactly like the one on the tutorial. In particular, it has no physical pins, just the holes to solder pins in. I have two questions: 1) What is the best way to...

EasyDIY OpenSource display for EVs: TSDZ2 and Bafang M500/M600 EBike motors

Thanks! That reassures me! And you're right, I should have guessed it was not the case ;) Yep I meant casainho's original circuit. I was wondering if the P-MOSFET plus the resistors does everything that the out-of-stock switch does.

EasyDIY OpenSource display for EVs: TSDZ2 and Bafang M500/M600 EBike motors

Thanks! I had actually misread the site when it said 52-week factory lead time! I have a couple of other questions actually. Does all the current to the motor go through the display and thus through the MOSFET? The datasheet mentions a continuous drain current of less than 1A while the motor...

EasyDIY OpenSource display for EVs: TSDZ2 and Bafang M500/M600 EBike motors

Hi all, and thanks to all for the great work on this display! I am getting ready to build one and I ran into the out-of-stock problem for the BTS4140N. However I tried to find the BSP321 and I am running into similar problems: either out of stock, or available in packs of thousands. @Kaziq...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

thanks, but from what I understood, you can also flash using openocd. Or am I wrong? Also where do I get the stm8 files I need as they are not in the official openocd directory. I found this openOCD clone (https://github.com/ntfreak/openocd/tree/master/tcl/target). Is this where you guys get...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

sorry for my newbie question. I just got my stlinkv2 and I would like to flash the firmware from MacOSX. openOCD seems to work, but I cannot find scripts for stm8, only stm32. Is this normal? Otherwise there seems to be stm8flash. I haven't tried it yet. Does it require openocd? Or is it...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I will, thanks. Is there actually a simulator/emulator with which I can do development and testing without flashing the thing each time?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi all, I am new to this opensource firmware and I am very interested in the possibility to use it with a smartphone app. I've seen there is development in this direction with the SW102. But I was wondering if the required logic cannot be implemented directly in a smartphone app. Has anyone...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just put several layers of insulating tape all around. Unless you plan to go underwater with it, it should be enough to protect it from splashing water. You could also use a double-layer thermoretractable sleeve with adhesive for extra safety.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thanks what's the status of the SW102? I've seen a thread, but is there a version yet? Also, I had seen someone post a video of a bike controlled through a bluetooth mobile phone. Is there a mobile phone app in the working? Or a piece of code I can start from ;)?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

hi I just received the LCD3 and will flash soon. But I discovered that in the month between my order and the LCD3 being delivered, casainho prepared a version for the 850c. Too bad I did not know this, or I would have bought the latter. Anyway, I have a few questions: - are the features on...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi all, I read in this thread that the motor shuts down when cadence exceeds 90rpms. Yet I am almost sure I have pedalled faster than that and the motor was still helping me. I am using the stock firmware. is the 90rpm limit a "feature" of the custom firmware?the I will test again, but in the...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

hi all, I am waiting for my LCD3 to arrive. But today i noticed something I had never paid attention to on my VLCD5. When I turn it on and all the LCD segments light up, there is a "POWER" label that never shows up during usage. What is it for? is it for the TSDZ2? Is it for other motors? thanks

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

hi, I was wondering if there is any knowledge as to which models of STLinkV2 clones work, and which do not. I have had a look on ebay and I the cheapest sell for about 5-6E. So if I buy 3 I am almost at the price of an original STLinkV2. In any case, the original should work, right? thanks

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I think 12 in series (36V) x 3 in parallel (15Ah each cell being 5). Why? Do you also have a pingbattery? This is great news! I thought I had read that somewhere but I wasn't sure and I was already thinking of implementing it myself if it wasn't there!!!

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

hi, thank you all for your replies. I ordered the KT-LCD3 without the additional cable. I am going to install the custom firmware as soon as I receive it. But for now I also have a question regarding the stock firmware. I was wondering how the battery level indicator and low-voltage cutoff...

    Intro guide to TSDZ2 & BBS02 (updated 2021)

hi all I just discovered this thread and the reliability issues of TSDZ2 worry me a bit. like jimmyfergus, I knew about blue gear and other things, but I had understood problems were repairable. Also, Tongsheng claimed they updated their motor when I emailed them last April. Can anyone confirm...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

hi I had a similar problem with mine. At first I opened up the motor thinking it would pass, but it wasn't enough. Then I simply tore apart the cable guide and removed the protruding part which was not useless because it was for the front derailleur cable which I had removed. I only kept a small...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I got it, it is the end of the dupont connector. But is it tight enough around the pins?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

looks pretty good, but how did you make the "female connector" part? There's heatshrink but you also have hollow metal around it.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

mmm, do you mean make female connectors out of the heatshrink? will this be reliable? I would not like to brick the motor by flashing half a firmware. what I was thinking of is the following setup. connect the output of the STlinkV2 to the male connector of the light cable (probably need to...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Not sure it would work for me, as I have a throttle version, so 8 pins. However, does this setup work for flashing the TSDZ2? it should, shouldn't it?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

That's also a good idea, but does the connector have the pins or just the holes? Have you or anyone else tried this solution? Are there pictures?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Awesome! Thanks a lot! I am going to try the new firmware as soon as I get my hands on the required components. Actually, can someone please help me with this from the wiki? - Get a spare controller $30 from PSWPower and use the cables, seems best value as you will have a spare controller pcb...
