My only experience with Police and pushbikes is when I was run over by a car around 5:00pm in the afternoon.
By the time police arrived it was 6:15pm and they booked me for riding at night time without a headlight on my bike.
I know where you are coming from of course, plus I didn't rememeber you had SLA's in there - perhaps if you revisit later and put in lion batteries you might consider a motorcycle fuel tank - just look at the variety out there ;)...
you probably don't want to hear this, but I hate the look of the battery box! Are you sure you can't go to a motorcycle wreckers or something and pick up an old motorcycle fuel tank? You could then cut it somehow so you can get the batteries in there.
This guy received a similar response on the Australian Show "The New Inventors", I judge neither way as I am too clueless with electronics and physics :)

To me it seems the Australian kit market is improving, plus depending on exchange rates those that are happy to import from Australia might also find a better deal!
500w $479 & 200w $389 kit including batteries apparently...
Wow.. brings on a whole new meaning to the term horsepower!
If that's a real bike, then some people have way too much time on their hands, and I am jealous!
Ok, apparently $1300 then another $150 for delivery as it weighs 33kg's!
That 30% more (or so) than $1100 so getting a bit expensive.
33kg's seems a bit heavy too?
Are there any detailed online reviews around?
I sent him one a while back which he didn't respond to - I'm not sure if he knows he gets them?
*sigh* no listing for the fabled SWXB2

I ran over a 1.5m goanna once at about 40km/hr! I think I just managed to lift the wheels so I didn't break his back
Not quite sure who was more scared!
The best advice in this thread, having a permanent injury is much worse than swallowing your pride over your $1500 ebike.
edit: And don't forget, if you are insured, you get to make Ebike #2 :)
Thanks for taking the time to take piccies FlyingMonkie.
Looking at your pictures over and over again, you have shown two solutions to the problem correct?
I suspect the smaller one is more suited to a mountain bike?
It looks good - good to see a tallish person on one too.
How noisy would you say it is?
I'd love to see them in Australia for a reasonable price, but I know it's just not going to happen - my guess will be $2799
