    DIY Solar Power

I've got a small model of a stirling engine which I put behind a A4 Fresnel lens (got a bigger one though). The principle is so simple! Here's a vid (please excuse the bad video quality): GdRAnb3kg9E

    DIY Solar Power

I always dream about building my own solar stirling generator, because they're much more efficient than solar panels in direct sunlight and relatively simple to build. I also thought of a large fresnel lense or a satellite dish mirror tracking the sun, so the focusing spot would always be on the...

found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

Today I did 59kph on the flat thanks to the delta wye mod I did to my 9C, using the 48v 10Ah battery from ecity!! Yehaa, I love the speed! :D And the battery held up to it! Was just warm after 10min full throttle, starts and stops, but the controller was hot! Great to see you here Jack!

found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

Seems like not everyone was as lucky with their battery as I was :) I have it (48v10ah) for a few weeks now, and until now I'm very happy with it. Despite the fact that I still don't have a functioning Wattmeter, I would like to comment on how it performs. Ok, the acceleration I get with my 9C...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

Ok, this is my first e-bike build. The bike is a 1994 Marin Team Issue, and has a nice chrome-moly frame. The tires are 26" street slick Specialized, the components are mostly Shimao XTR. I hooked it up with a 48v 10ah lifepo4 from ecitypower.com and an ecrazyman 48v 30amp controller, and...

Tenergy has a $35 Doc Wattson/Watts Up clone (sort of)

Oh and the finish of the device is ok, 12awg wire with connectors that seem to be 4mm female banana type. It looks a bit bulky to me...

Tenergy has a $35 Doc Wattson/Watts Up clone (sort of)

Already tested at 15v yesterday. The thing should work up to 60v like the Watt's up... emailed them and they said I should send them pics. I'll do that and see what happens.

    New Swiss ebike

Yes it's german. By the way, "Strom" (say the "s" like "sh") means current and an electrician is often referred to as "Stromer".

    New Swiss ebike

Yeah, it's really good looking! 36v 10ah battery stored IN the frametube, assists up to 50kmh, disc brakes, only weighs 20kg, and costs 4100CHF ,ca 3700USD! There was an exhibition a few weeks ago near the place I live, but I wasn't able to go... A while ago I purchased an older swiss...

Tenergy has a $35 Doc Wattson/Watts Up clone (sort of)

Ok, I bought the Watt's up clone and it arrived today. But when I plug it in my pack (currently 50.5v) nothing happens. I applied a small load (light bulb) and the current flows through the meter, but the display remains empty. I double checked polarity, pressed any button, but nothing happens...

found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

Russell, I contacted ecity (Jack) directly via email. My pack was built using the battery "8081230" from here: http://www.ecitypower.com/index.php?page=75 This is 3C continuous rated. I know chinese vendors often overstate C rates, and I will find out by how much soon. But even 2C would satisfy...

found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

Some updates on batteries from ecitypower: After some problems Jack sent the 48v 10ah pack with EMS. 4 days China to Switzerland! If that isn't fast! I seem to be the first that has gotten ecity batteries so here are some pics. The BMS is integrated in the shrink tube and has the same length...

ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION DELTA /WYE and SERIE/PAPALLEL stator

3pdt would really be the safest to use, but a decent and cheap 30A+ switch is really hard to find for me! I haven't been as lucky as the doc :) It would be great if anyone could post links once you find some more! The next best I've found is a 4PDT switch 20 AMP @ 125 VAC on ebay... That...

found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

But just hang on a second. We don't want to accuse anybody prematurely here. It also sounds like a vendor war to me, but Allan hasn't complained about the chargers, just about loosing money to Jack and bad batteries. Let's hope the battery thing isn't as bad as Allan makes it sound, cause I'm...

    700c Roadbike, fast+short commute, which kit/battery?

Thanks for the comments! Already helped a lot, you pursuaded me not to destroy my new road bike :) . I still have an old steel framed Peugeot road bike in the garage, might as well use this one (needs renovation though). Thanks drunkskunk for the idea with the dewalt packs, they appear to have...

    700c Roadbike, fast+short commute, which kit/battery?

Hey Guys, First of all I need to say that I'm a total noob on this forum, so please forgive my ignorance! Ok, I was thinking about electrifying my recently ordered Bianchi via Nirone 7 roadbike with 700c wheels. I would predominantly use it for short rides in the city (mostly under 5km), so my...
