Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Thanks for the link. I read the article and his problem was slightly different to mine. His screen went off in any power level over 1, but mine goes off at any level. With my old unit i tried the LCD on a second bike and it worked, so that was not the problem. With the NEW unit I removed...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I don't think it is the battery as I tried a second one and it did the same thing. :( Also tried that battery on another motor and it worked.

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

My TSDZ2 has been running fine with the modified firmware for the past 5 years. Today it powered up as normal, but as soon as I press on the pedal the display turns off. Any ideas on the cause of the problem?

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I'll try lowering the power levels and see if the consumption goes down. I have the vlcd5 so I only have 4 levels to play with.

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Ok, I'll lower the battery power and see if that helps. I had taken off the "Experimental high cadence" mode and saw no difference in consumption. I'd say the Tour mode is a little below what Turbo was on the stock firmware. I saw no difference that I could tell between Tour and Speed, but the...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

So how do I calculate the other value? Also, would this value being wrong cause my consumption to go up the way it did?

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I read somewhere to get that number you add up your total battery watt hours. I have 6 separate 4.4ah battery packs at 158WH each connected in parallel. Is that the right way to get that number? I just noticed the MBRUSA version has both battery power max, and battery capacity options, but the...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, but I just installed the Marcoq version of the open source and noticed a large increase in power consumed. On the original firmware the motor consumed 163WH in TURBO during a 15 mile ride. With the new software it consumed 240WH for...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just got one of these boost converters and managed to get the output voltage set, but I'm not familiar enough with multimeters to figure out how to change the amps and the low voltage cut off. Could you enlighten me on how to do it? Also what should I set the AMPS too? Thanks.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Ok, I have had a few more test runs on the motor and battery, and have a few observations. On mine, it seems like assist level 1 and 2 are all but useless. I can pedal with the same effort and speed with the motor OFF as I can in these 2 levels. The only time I noticed any help in level 2 was...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My speed sensor has been connected by just 2 wires for the past few hundred miles with no ill effect. The other wires are just there for extra features which you may or may not need. I don't know if the motor will even work or not without connecting the speed sensor (never tried), but I would...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

itchyfoot, it is really easy to install this motor on a trike yourself. The speed senor cable only has 2 wires in it so it's real easy to extend. I had to fabricate a small collar to keep the motor from rotating and that was it! Install took about an hour, and I had no prior experiance at all...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I can see this being a pain in the butt....if I ever get my replacement gear. Seller told me 2 weeks ago that they were airmailing the part. After emailing them to tell them it was not here yet I asked them for a tracking number. They told me they would send me the tracking number the next day...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thanks, I wish it was that easy, but the motor in the video is not quite the same as mine (though it looks the same) when the guy takes out the motor the blue gear is sitting in the motor. Mine is attached to the shaft like the pictures earlier in this thread. It does not simply fall off like...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi Garth, you say the blue plastic gear is easy to change? Have you done it? or do you know HOW to do it? I'm waiting for my replacement but I'm not sure how to do it yet. Thanks.

Thanks for the write up. I'm still waiting for them to send me a new blue gear. It's been 2 weeks already! Still not sure how I'm gonna replace it though!

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

How do I get the motor with the blue gear out of this unit? I have removed all the screws I can see but the motor will not pull out. Is there screws behind the chainring side that need to come out?

    TSDZ2 motor problem

I had posted this in another thread that was old, so I figured I had probably better give it it's own thread. Anyway, I just got one of these motors and when it is off there is no noise, however as soon as I turn on the power it makes a grinding noise Here is a video I made of it...
