1000W BMC testing

OK then is it a stupid question to ask if you all had it to do over again, would you have still chosen the V3? I am really liking the idea of a 1000 Watt geared hub, it seems to have more torque than what I am getting out of my current Conhis motor @ 1000 watts (actually like 1500) and it seems to have better topo speed, so where are the pitfalls? I really want to get started ordering parts for my prototype, but I am not in a position to waste money on something that will not deliver, so where does this motor fall short? Also, is there room to outfit the motor with larger/better quality Phase wires to be able to use more like the full BMC 50A controller unlimited or is there more to it than that??

Thanks all!

if you want a very efficient motor that doesn't break, the 5303 is still one of the best. I can get to almost 30 mph just on 36v. There aren't many hub motors that can do that. The guys at ebikes.ca must have built me a great 5303 hub motor because I've driven off of cement ledges and went up dirt hills on it and I have yet to break a spoke or damaged the hub motor in anyway. Someone who is 150 lbs, could probably reach 31 or 32 mph on a 5303 at 36v. I weigh 250 lbs.

I know they are good motors, the problem is I want to also have good low speed power that I can let tug me up hills off road even at slow speeds without burning up. I have heard the non geared motors have a real hard time with the slower stuff, and unfortunately there will be a good amount of that type of riding on mountain trails. I am trying to build a bike that will do it all really well, like the Opti Bike. I know there will be some trade offs for going with a hub motor, but considering I hope to do this for less than a third of what the Opti costs, I should still be happy with the outcome. I just need monstrous torque with a decent top speed for commuting of at least 30MPH. I like the idea of this motor because it seems like it has considerably more torque than the typical 1000watt hub motor, yet still has good top end. I am just looking for the breakdowns in the design so I know what I am getting into..

I need two new hall sonsors for the v3 motor. Does anyone know what the spec is for the sensor? Where I can get one?

I have mutilated the bread board a little as well. Anyone know where to get one of those?

Also does anyone know the codes for the blinking light in the controller?

Thanks

For the hall sensors you'd want to talk to Ilia at Ebikes-SF. He fixed 2 of my hall sensors on one of my V3 motors. For the breadboard I'm not sure where to get that.

Strange you should ask about the blinking light codes on the controller because my controller is acting up also and when I asked Ilia he said he was emailing an info request from Chandu at BMC for those controller light codes.
