Novice questions for Enduro build

I'm doing the same with a KLX400 (green DRZ400) donor bike. The bike is a bit of a plodder but it is what I have and the motor is bad.

I just ordered from siaecosys by contacting them directly since their packages on aliexpress did not really match what I was wanting.

I'm getting:
QS138 70H V3 with sproket
Votol EM260SGTP
DKD display
Z6 throttle
Wiring harness including DC converter

Above was around $900 USD.

Seems like a pretty good deal based on my research so far. We shall see. Shipping was over $250 which is what it is I guess. They would only do DHL express. Not sure why.

I'm not thrilled with the throttle or display based on the pictures but I figure it is a place to start and I can change that stuff up relatively inexpensively. I also had them include an accelerator unit as you pictured earlier in this thread in case I prefer the stock throttle. I like the controls on the V6 throttle combination but not the throttle/grips themselves. They look like they would break the first time I dropped the bike on a rocky trail. Plus I like to ride with full wrap metal guards and I'm not sure if the Z6 can be cut at the end to fit them.

The main reason I went with a EM260 was that it is what electro and co offer so I figure they must have vetted it pretty well. Plus I'd rather have more power available in the controller and tune it down than run a controller at its max. But, I'm no expert.

This is my first attempt at something like this so I'd be interested to see how your build works out.

After I get the motor in my current plan is a 72v or 76v battery from amorge with a metal box if possible. I think sizing & fitting & mounting the battery will probably be the biggest challenge based on what I've read here and other places. Especially since the donor bike does not have a twin spar frame.

From what I've seen posted by Don Cox and a couple others here and on electricdirtriders the consensus seems to be that amorge provides quality batteries pretty much as cheap as someone in the US could build them. And apparently they can do custom battery shapes and configurations. I have no personal experience with them yet but you can do your own research to see if they might be good for your needs.

Good luck with your build.
