I really wanted a bike to get around the city instead of using my car, I have to go over bridges and up steep hills. I also really wanted to reduce my eco footprint. I liked the idea of just buying a bike so I bought one, It was way cheap cause my wife didn’t believe that it was a good form of transport, well it wasn’t even close to good enough. So I bought another bike after actually blowing something in the 24V controller while going over the bridge, the bike came to a stall and I had to pedal hard at the steepest points anyway.
That bike actually paid for it self and saved me so much money that my wife let me get another bike. This bike was slightly more expensive being 36V. The second bike also paid for itself, and would go up the steepest points; of the bridge with only light pedaling. After that bike paid for it’s self, I decided to build my own bike and not have some plain mountain bike that I never even thought of taking a picture of. When I was riding it, I felt like I was a delivery boy. For my next bike I really wanted something that would have a presence and make a statement that going Electric was for so many reasons smart but cool, way cool in fact. I also wanted it’s response to the environment to be supple, I wanted the handling to be sharp, and I wanted it to have power. A power that was stated clearly even when the bike wasn’t in motion.
It draws actual crowds, everywhere I stop. This is not a bike for a married man, with a double seat, so I run it with a single! If anybody wants a bike like this I’ll be happy to assemble one for you as long as you can take delivery in NYC. Check out the website for more pictures at www.bodegasbikes.com. It’s a simple site with pictures and contact information.
