Looks like there is a lot competition.

The interesting thing is that they all share similar parts. There are many companies that are producing cathodes, anodes and other components and most of the listed "producers" are just assembling the components

Also a interesting information: China produced 1.000.000 kWh of Lithium cells this year (approx. 200 factory's). The planed capacity for 2010 is 4.000.000 kWh.

1.000.000 / 30 = 33.333 - electric cars could be produced if all the batteries that had been produced this year in China would be used for EVs only. The most batteries are small ones for mobile phones, laptops, cameras etc. Seems like there's still a loooong way to go for EVs to become mainstream :?
