26in Wheel Drum Brake Options?

Good to know, thanks for the info!

As for the performance of the SA drums, here is a link where the 70MM is discussed with good reviews, I am going for the 90 MM mainly because I will have a very heavy cargo/touring bike, and I want to avoid brake fade on long hills, and have the longest intervals as possible required for maintenance.[/quote]

oppS, NO LINK !!

Yeah, I'm just amazed at how they are able to beat most everyone else by $20-$30 including shipping!

I'm going to get it through my LBS if he can get it, but if not, I'll buy it from Niagara through Amazon.

Here is a nice link to MTBR forums with tuning advice and performance of the 70 & 90 mm SA drum brakes!

One guy switched from disc to drum so he didn't run out of pads during a 24hr race, and with the 90 mm says it's comparable to a disc. 8)

Just make sure you have good spokes and rim sockets to handle the extra loading.

Yep, I will be having a hand built wheel with 14/13/14 double butted Sapim spokes going to a Ryno Lite rim. 8)

Hey guys, i haven't posted for a while but i just wanted to say that my 70mm sturmey drums been working awesome. Had the bike regularly over 30mph and felt confident stopping the rig.

Great to hear and thanks for the update. A front drum brake is on my wish list already. Bob
