i got one until i can afford a luna... seems to be working great on my homemade 13p11s laptop pack... charges much faster than the 2.5 amp i had that was for pb batterys. i have a bms that works well ive used this new 48v 6 amp charger and it seems to work great charges quite a bit faster than the pb charger. the 48v 6amp charger says its made for 13p lipo. my bms supports up to 8 amp charging and the pack is just a tad bit warm when charging but not hot. seems fine just wanted to get any input on it...again i have a bms over o/c and u/c protectioin. the unit itself seems heavy and looks like the ones that comes with a lot of packs that claim they are 5 amp... this one says 6 amp max on the back and puts out 52.4 volts... good deal and looks ok when i took it apart to solder in my connector. i will eventually get a luna but is there anything to worry about this charger? full charge seems to take about 5 hours

13s you mean?

Maybe just a typo in first post but it should output 54.6V. Which is what you want for 13s lipo.

yea thats what it puts out on multimeter was just wondering about how long you guys think it will hold up... seems to be pretty good and quick and it feels pretty heavy... has a fan it... was wondering if anyone knew how long it may last or if it is bad for my batteries? i would like to get a luna... at least by the time i buy my new expensive cells but hopefully this will hold up 3-6 months or longer

Hi, that looks like a standard charger that has sold 10000ds of, the design dates back at least 7 8 years. If it lasts 20 charges i think it should last 100, easily, probably 200 - 400 charges if it's just kept at home. It makes sense to always have a spare one lying around.

thank you for the reply. i will likely order another to leave at work or have in my backpack... is there any reason to get a luna over this considering i am and always will use a bms on my batterys? i mean i realize luna can do 80 percent charging and trickle but im just curious if this is actually pushing out 6 amps.

If you really want to know what is going on, get a cheap blue watt meter, and put it on the output wire. When the amps drop, you are nearly full, if you want to do 90% charges.

Handy, especially if you want to diddle the out put pots, both amps and voltage.

I have these shape chargers couple of years. They work great. Added pot to adjust output voltage 50-60v.
72V version also avaliable. Added pot to adjust 70V-95V

im gonna buy an extra. should i buy the 72v version and pot it down to 48v i was considering updating controllerin the future so that would be useful? im gonna get another for backup... no one has given me a good reason to get a luna over these im just gonna use these... seem to work great and the price is great if you get them china direct.

I think its not good idea to use these charges far off designed voltage.
Precision 4 digit SMD resistors is what to look and modify.
In my case
2182 ohm = 58,8V
2228 ohm = 55,4V
