Hi guys,
I have a 7kW DC motor lying around and I don't know what to do with it. It was a CNC drive or something similar, once.
Regarding the motor:
It has two modes, which read:
S1:
152 V / 33,2 A / 4500 W / 3000 rpm (without fan)
S2:
155 V / 51 A / 7000 W / 3000 rpm (with fan "10 l/sec" of air?)
The blue thing in the trunk is the fan it needs to run at 7kW. Without it's "only" 4,5kW. This thing is pretty heavy, I made a note: ~25kg. I guess it's full of copper and all of that awesome stuff. Sadly I threw away the 380V AC to DC converter unit. Damn.. it has a sensor for RPM. When opened there is a small lable with "ABB" in bold letters and some text:
Code FC12T R0001
No. 514540 R09/05
Ke: 6mV/rpm
Ke is part of the rpm sensor.
Please correct me if I'm wrong: 3000 rpm at 151V equals ~20 KV? So if I plugged this to 12V this should run at ~240 rpm?
If I can run this thing off a battery charger or 12V PSU I'll be able to make it spin. But what could I do with it? A lathe? A bad-ass-drill? Surely no ebike.
