or look at what sun-thing28 is offering now on ebay.
i'm not using lipo's. I'm using much safer 18650 Samsung 25R cylindricals. I do have a background in EE but mostly in Computer Engr. So I do have some intermediate EE skills and lots of soldering/lab work.
My past experience with RC Lipo's were not great when I used them with flying my nitromethanol helicopters. The LiPo's were lightweight, expensive, but tend to swell or bubble only after 10-15 flights. I had used a balance charger as well. The lipo was not connected to any other packs, other than a simple 7.4V pack designed to move servos.
my opinion is that 18650's are a bit safer than pouch based cells. provided that like any batteries, you don't overcharge it. I am planning to use a quality BMS. Not the cheeap looking ones on alibaba. There is a buyer on eBay in China who will be tab welding the packs for me in 1S4P configurations and putting solder tabs. All I have to do is solder each 4P pack in series, wire the BMS, and hook it up.
