I was wondering if I can power my 3-phased AC motors that's taken apart from some old industrial machine? I am also wondering if BLDC motors and AC motors are the same since it's both 3 phased and a BLDC motor controller is somehow an inverter? I got plenty of 3-phased AC motors, and I'm trying a project to build an EV with these AC motors... just trying to make something out of these things...

THe motors are not the same; the AC motors are usually induction motors and work differently.

If you have sensorless controllers I suppose you could try them at unknown risk of damaging them, but sensored ones wouldnt' work.

I think there is another thread discussing this, but I can't find it at the moment. it might be this one

This is the search I used:

I will try it soon, i got plenty of motor controllers and I don't mind risking it for "research", I was just wondering if someone has done this before
