I recently purchased an electric conversion kit:
http://www.ev-power.eu/EVBike-WheelKit/E-bike-conversion-kit-EVBike-36-48V-500-750W-Front-28.html

with this battery:
http://www.ev-power.eu/EVBike-Battery/Battery-for-EV-bikes-EVBike-36V-8-8Ah.html

I put it all together (though i did not install the pedal assist). It seems that the walking assist is working properly but when i try to use the accelerator nothing happens. The "accelerator function" on the lcd display reacts when i use the accelerator but the bike does not move.

Do i need to be traveling at some speed before i use it or do you know what can be the problem? I am confused..

Thank you!

There's a setting in the LCD for how the throttle works. Also, whatever the setting, it doesn't work on level zero.

The setting is P4=0

If you have P4=0 and C4=0, the accelerator/throttle won't work when the PAS indicator shows 0. Press the ^ button to set the PAS indicator between 1 -5. Your zero start should work. Further, if you set C4=3 you will get a zero start even when the PAS indicator shows 0.

I suggest installing the PAS. Initially I didn't install it either. My previous controller's PAS wasn't very good so hardly used it. But I got a KT controller (looks like that's the kit you have) and their 'torque simulation' for PAS is pretty cool. I now find myself using PAS more than I thought I would.

Thanks for the help guys! I turned up the assist and now it is working. I will install the PAS as well but I did not have the tools for it and I wanted to be able to ride it to work today :)

Glad you were able to get to work. 8) Part of the reason I didn't initially install PAS was because I didn't have the crank remover or spanner tools either. After trying other tools, ended up buying the crank remover. My slotted pliers opened wide enough to fit in two of the slots of the lockring so didn't have to buy the spanner. I gripped firmly and gently twisted to remove it. I mounted the magnets on the left / non-chain side.
