hey has anyone seen the actual mph on any boosted boards?

i have seen one video and i think the fastest he went was 17-18mph

To be honest that sounds about right. all motorized skateboard sold cannot break 20 mph or it falls under a different class of vehicle which require more regulation rules and taxs. on the Eglide site there GT board says on the site 22 to 24 but they can not send one out that way without being sued.

I think 20 is ok for a limit. I regeared my board from just over 30mph to just over 20mph and its still plenty fast enough.

@saming,
That is an interesting comment. I am not familiar with the regulations that you are quoting. Do you have more information about these laws that you can share?

It's not a true law but to stay safe and within regulations. Production boards are topped out at 20mph or so.

Here is one example which is the eBike laws for California. However, most of us already break the maximum wattage law but unless they were an expert. I think you could lie about the total wattage and/or I wonder if a button on the controller for Ex. 13mph/20mph would justify being under 1,000 watts for city and 2,000+ watts for private property.

The e-bikes must have an electric motor that has a power output less than 1,000 watts, is incapable of propelling the device at a speed of more than 20 miles per hour on level ground, is incapable of further increasing the speed of the device when human power is used to propel the motorized bicycle faster than 20 miles per hour, operates in a manner so that the electric motor is disengaged or ceases to function when the brakes are applied, or operates in a manner such that the motor is engaged through a switch or mechanism that, when released, will cause the electric motor to disengage or cease to function.

I'm looking really hard to find where i read that at but from what I know its under 1 Horse power which is under1000 watts in use. no faster than 20 mph, I did some personal research a while ago all American skateboard only go 20 mph max. but if you look at skatetek Canadian theres boast 27mph cause they dont have to deal with American safety regulation. I do not want to sound dumb but i will try to find where i read it.

its too bad there arent many actual owners on this forum.... only custom builders... oh well

Depends on which one. With their high volt esc (is it 42?) I imagine it could do 40something but it is limited to 20something. I wonder If it's limited through the esc the speed in the esc and you could change its limits. I've seen them take very very steep streets at an ok speed and imagine you could simply change the gear ratio. But the motor mount might not be adjustable and gerting the distance right might be a problem
I don't know what gear ratio it has or what kv the motor.

Torque or anyone please tell me I keep forgetting how many watts it takes to get from a to b on a board. Or up a steep hill.
