hi

can i add a lead acid battery (in parallel) to a lithium ion to go farther , not faster.

i have a raleigh triumph

thanks

250 watts

Voltage : 25.9v

Speed : up to maximum 25km/h under motor support.

Cruising Range : approx 30-35km

BATTERY : Lithium-ion 10 Amp voltage 25.9v

Charge time: max 8 Hours.

thanks

Yes you can. By running a lithium battery in parallel with a 12 ah lead acid battery, you will also get a lot more usable watt hours from the lead, than if you were running just the lead.

This is what you must be careful about, when you hook them up, they must be the same voltage. So you might have to run the lead a mile, to get it's fully charged voltage near 27v down to the same as the lithium 26v, then hook up the parallel connection.

It won't take very far, to drop that lead voltage. It could be only a block or two.

I was doing the same thing with lifepo4 and lico. After 1 mile, the voltage was the same.

Adding a volts readout to your bike will be needed.
