Last I checked, modern easily commercially available LFP cells are up to 180-190Wh/kg, so not really half the energy density of most HE NMC(A) cells at 250-265Wh/kg.
It's not that much of a sacrifice anymore... if you're willing to buy the cells directly from the manufacturer.
