Hi, Folks, I'm a newbie, have been lurking for a while, have not seen the information I need, so am writing. I have a 4 year-old EVglobal 36V ebike. It is in excellent condition, always garaged, not run in rain, used it for commuting to/from work for about 2 years, until daughter was born and had to drive to daycare every day. The original battery died, took out the charger with it (battery expanded considerably when left on charger).

Can someone advise on a **reliable** replacement battery/charger, perhaps one that will supply a bit more power. I don't want to build something myself, but realize I may need to solder some leads for a non-EVglobal battery. Also, I would like to be able to pull a bike trailer for my daughter, and the ride to work is about 7 miles, much of it up hill. I don't mind pedaling, just like the extra push that the motor provides. But I figure that newer batteries might last longer or provide a bit more power than the old one, which was always slightly underpowered and never lasted as long as advertised.

I'm not interested in the latest, greatest technology, would like something reliable. I don't mind having to charge the battery after use...but perhaps NiMH or NiCd would be better than SLA, since they can be left partly charged for brief periods better than SLA.

Thanks for your advice.

Looking for stock replacements for EVglobal 36v SLA batteries- will the Powersonic PSH 1280FR fit and do the job? http://www.power-sonic.com/site/doc/prod/139.pdf

Any other ideas? for power, availability, cost?

Any feedback on the Radio shack 7ah cells?
