What are the goals of your project? How much time do you have? What is the experience level of you (and your team)?

Right now the class is looking for Motors and controller i have until tomorrow to get links and tell the teacher why this motor and controller will be best for are class project I know we want some good speed and totorque but needs to cost efficient all we are doing right now is research are level rookie are teacher has 28 years of exp

It would help to know more about what you're expecting from the project in terms of performance, available budget, time to completion, among other things, but I see you need a proposal quick.

For simplicity purposes, I'd suggest a DC motor (PERM, AGNI, E-TEK) and a Kelly controller. I'm sure others on this list could suggest many other varieties, but I have used this combination before. I would suggest staying away from hobby motors and controllers for now.

Buy a motor from John from CR. Its listed as a 94% efficiant hubmonster. Google it and you will find it. Its one of the best motors i have seen and for the price its unbeatable. I have one running my motorbike at ~30kw mounted as a hub motor, if you are willing to do some design work then i would suggest mid mounting and chain drive to the rear wheel and going as high in voltage as you can. If you dont want to mod the motor too much then a Golden motor HPM-10kw would be good as long as you are still prepaired to pull it apart and smooth out the contact to the heat sink and also add air circulation inside the motor otherwise it will heat soak really fast.

By either a pair of Sabvoton or Goldenmotor sinewave controllers, i used kelly brushless and will not use them again. Golden motors go up higher in power but they are not really known controllers yet.

Should all come to <$1500 shipped for the motor and controllers for ~30kw, bumping it to 50kw will probably take the golden controllers for ~$2000

Sorry may be a bit late for you.

Or go bonkers and buy the new HPM-20kw motor and the more powerful controllers from golden for ~$5000. The motors should handle dual controllers so 50kw constant with peaks of who knows. I have not seen any actuall believable documentation on the motor and controller setup yet.
