Hey there, my neighbour wants to build a all wheel drive bike, and had some logistics that need to be figured out first.

First off, get the motors in the wheel, I can do that.
Second part, do i need to controllers? or can they be wired to the same one if the amperage is kept under the limit of the controller?
third, any problems running multiple controllers off the same battery? problems with regen?

do the motor have to be identical in spec?

Hopefully you see what I am doing here and can shed some light on this for me.

before you ask, yes, he is a power/speed freak!

Thanks in advance, I await the replies.

Idealy, two controllers and two motors, identical. One throttle is the usual setup, and one battery or two would depend on the batteries ability to provide the amps.

Strong enough battery can run both controllers, but if weaker, two batteries might be better, or two batteries paralelled to make one strong one.

Best thing about it is the motors are less likely to melt. If 3000w melts one motor in 30 min, 1500w is much better. Two motors then equals 3000w and doesn't melt motors.

Of course, if you plan to ride only 15 min, 3000w per motor.

Torque arms and torque plates front and back. GOOD ones. Don't forget to say " and you know this bike is dangerous?" to buddies about to try it.
