Here's a link to a newsletter about the race that takes place at Road Atlanta this weekend:

I wonder if it'll be televised :?:

It will be televised 11 am to 6 pm ET this Saturday on Speed. I am watching a preview show of the event on Speed as I type. For racefans who might not have watched any, ALMS is one of the better modern race formats in my opinion. Then again my top three choices would be eclectic as they are ALMS, Moto GP and Craftsman Trucks.

Will be interesting to see how they work the racing with the green challenge part of it.

The ICE races are also the Green races. All the cars have telemetry, and with computers, they will be able to show the relative standings in the Green sense real time as the race is going on.

It really isn't all that green yet, but it is a step in that direction. Next year they will use the Green protocols for all races, and some hybrids with energy, and heat recovery systems will be raced. Again, not everything you might want, but a step in the green direction.

The promotion of this hasn't had very good or complete explanations. I thought at one point the Green protocols would decide the winner in this one race. Apparently it is a separate set of awards along with how they place in the race or maybe some combination of those. Adds interest to the race anyway.
