Typical, the last few years the right wing was pushed out of power by people voting. So when the right wing wants to take over the government by force it's being liberated. What about the people that voted that Government in? Is that not called an over throw of the Government. Have news for you the majority of the United States population wants to be liberated too but we are voting.
Militias are illegal and if we keep having a rise in this violence we will need to take away your guns if all of you can not control yourselves. No more play armies out in the woods, FBI is watching. Law and Order really?
Fundamental changes needed in order to preserve democracy and ensure we move closer to our founding ideals.
Drastically reduce the racist voter suppression measures currently allowed, reinstate Voting Rights act, with more stringent enforcement.
Drastically reduce the impact of money on the election process, override Citizens United, strictly enforce donation limits, make PACs transparent, increase public funding of campaigning.
Move away from winner-take-all first past the post, only Nebraska and Maine are implementing better systems so far. Pursue the goal of encouraging 3+ mainstream parties, smooth transitions from obsolete ones (GOP) to those rising up (Greens, WFP, DSA), give appropriate levels of power for niche single-issue groups like racists, anti-choice, gun nuts etc.
IMO make voting an enforced requirement for all citizens, consider lowering the age to 17 or even 16.
Prevent law enforcement from suppressing protest and monitoring legal political speech and organizing activities. Eliminate the expanded surveillance powers, facial recognition, location tracking and other privacy violations allowed since 9/11.
Make political speech and activity a protected category like sex, age, race etc.
