If I’m hanging out with friends who like death metal, it's cool, but if I'm going down the road, I don't want to publicize it. Lots of good guitar work though.

I’m going to see Rush on Monday (6/9/08). $180 for 6th row. The entire band is awesome. Neil Peart has got to be one of the best drummers ever.

ive heard rush alot on KSHE 95 a classic rock station thats been around forever check out their website we also get lots of good bands that come through st louis if you up for a short(300 mile)roadtrip i noticed a lot of bands will pick between st louis and chicago and do one or the other
p.s. if you see the city sauget ill thats right out side of st louis in ill a lot of good band go to this huge bar over there called pops its open 24 hours a day(no joke)and have touring bands come through all the time
id say capacity is over 2000 people their websir is popsrocks.com check it out

dont be afraid to vote in the pole
aint there anybody out there that hates metal
if nobody hates metal then we must be doing something wrong
the point of metal is to piss someone off!!

I haven't decided yet if it sucks or blows. But, I can't stand it. Music was progressing nicely until disco hit. But at least it quickly faded. Then Rap came along and suddenly metered ryhme and endlessly looping someones hook line was "entertainment". I cannot believe how LOOOONg rap has persevered. I mean, there are only so many words that ryhme with bitch. IMHO it has set the progression of true talent and music back 20 years. This is all the labels want to market.

At any rate, to me, music has really gone downhill for about 2 decades. I have great hopes for the Internet and the *hopefully* eventual demise of the "music Industry" or labels as they are called, as I am tired also of the Britney Spears type pablum thay keep shoving out into the mainstream. It's sad really, that music has been ruined by corporate dweebs, that know noting about scouting true talent. If you think I am wrong, then try to find a record store, they are all gone now, or just about. People are still listening to the same music they have been listening to for 30 years. There is nothing out there these days, with only a few exceptions it seems.

As far as the new metal bands, you know they suck as they hold their guitars down around their knees. Anyone who plays knows that you hold a guitar up high - take a look at Jazz musicians or even Eric Clapton. These folks hit more than 3 chords and don't depend on distortion.

Yes, I am old, but I also think I am lucky. I was able to hear all the greats from the 50's and really "grew up" in the 60's and 70's and saw the progression, the British invasion etc. I mean, back then, music MOVED the people. You know you have something powerful, when the FBI and the CIA are on your ass because they are afraid that the young people are getting to organised around certain musical individuals. Yep, there "was something in the air" back then and I would not trade it for anything in the world.

Heck, you could go to a concert with all kinds of bands that were on the charts for 20 bucks too! 8)

Oh snap! A fairly well-thought-out argument! Run fools!! He's too much for us!!

But, yeah, I can't believe that rap has become so popular. I listen to a slim bit of hip-hop myself, but "gangsta rap"? Gimme a break.

Freakin' gangsters. I hate 'em like Cartman hates hippies. The way they're always talking about how crappy their lives are, and then they go around shooting people with crosses and junk hanging from their guns and the way they act all "hard" I hate 'em! I wanna kick 'em in the nuts!!

Atta boy! I'm so proud!! *sniff* Oh- and I was a hippie back then I guess. I didn't want to kill people for the government. I still don't. I would if they ever went after the right people, but, there's no money in that..or winning. At least, I have not seen them go after our enemies in my lifetime. I hope things change even now. But who knows?

Obama 08! FTW!!!!!!!!

Edit: Link- if I was your age, I would be listening to the same music you were though...I am sure. I don't want to put down what people like now. It's all about time and place. I am just from another time, that's all. I do like some of the re-mixes. :)

Metallica, AC/DC , Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc... i'm 29 years old.. so long hair bands were the thing as a teen..

Today. anything on the radio will do.. eminem i can stomach, rock stuff.. anything but western and opera.

Symphony of Destruction = Yusssss...

You know, I'm somewhat related to Eminem. Something like his 3rd or 4th cousin? I dunno. I apparently met him once, but I was like 10-12 and didn't know who he was. :?

Western is...not my style. I do have several electronica remixes of opera I like, though. :p

ben age is only a state of mind so i figure your like 50 ish
just kidding
ps classic rock was called acid rock at one time witch could be loosly considered metal

Sorry but I hate Arch Enemy. Chicks totally can't pull of decent harsh vocals.

Scar Symmetry. Win.
