I'm thinking of picking up one of these and converting it to electric.

Most of this school year I've had to drive a car (I teach) because of transportation issues with my kids and their schools, but next school year I'm free and clear to go to work and back each day on whatever I choose.

There's a shortcut to work that involves dirt, gravel, some paved paths, and the occasional bit of light mud.

I'm thinking that something like this might be fast and fun. Drop in 36 or 28 volts and I could probably squeeze out a 12-15 minute commute each way.

Anyone know what the spread is on those rear dropouts (or a close guestimate)? The frame is chromoly, so that's good.

Thanks

Mike

Without giving make or model? There is a standard size it is likely to be, but likely could lead to mistakes. Find one and measure it, or gt the seller to measure for you.

Looks like the DK Xenia 2007. I am a bicycle genius.

Just kidding I put the picture into Google Images. :p

And finally full specs from Bikepedia - http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?year=2007&brand=DK&model=Xenia

You could go Bafang Middrive which would slot into that standard bottom bracket shell. They are all the rage now.
