Switched to using the regular Schwalbe Big Apples 26 x 2.15 around 15 months ago. Nice and cushy and no flats until yesterday. Huge gash (unsure of cause) and pulled out a staple. Was able to pump up the tire every mile for five miles to get home.

Wondering if anyone has tried the Schwalbe Big Apple Plus tires. They were out of stock for a long time and cannot find much information regarding reviews of the tire.
The Schwalbe Site shows 3mm foam (Greenguard) to help protect against flats at the cost of more weight and more rolling resistance.

I have also heard by comparison that the Schwable Marathon Plus also has a foam layer, but rides significantly harsher - like on rocks.

Anyone with experience with this tire, would love to hear about it.

Hello, I bought these in size 50-622 to a regual bicycle after Marathon Plus Tour -tires in 42-622. Ride is significantly softer with even 5 bar pressure, and there is not much difference in rolling resistance. BA Plus seems to be very durable too, I'have tortured it on 30-70 mm stone rubble with low pressure, and it just doesn't care. My weight is around 105 kg, so there has been plenty of load on the tyres too. I can recommend these, but if you can do with lower puncture protection, there is this new Schwalbe Almotion to consider:

It's somewhat lighter and should roll even easier.
