I had planned to mount this motor system to a tandem bicycle but was never used. The motor is an Astro Flight Brushless motor Model 3220-3T-VC-1/2-2F-1B-SWE to include a Castle motor controller. As noted, it has a ½ inch axle with an added cooling fan. Reduction is custom made with a 16t drive with a 96t driven gear which is connected via 1 inch belt. The roller chain output is a 13t freewheel. The kit contains a Magura twist throttle and interface. This was purchased as a package unit and sold as a completed unit. Kit is located in Florida and I will ship FOB your location, within the 48 states. Currently priced at $795 OBO. If you are looking for a deal, this latest price should be what you are looking for. Thanks for looking.

Still for sale?

These things used to cost thousands.

How much power can these take?
Sorry I am late...thanks for asking. The battery should be at least 50 amps. The system will draw over 200 amps in short burst of acceleration and can handle over 100 amps continuous. A 52V 50 amp 25Ah battery should be adequate for all but the steepest climbs.

For everyone else:
This would be a lot of fun if you ditched the castle creations controller for a modern unit like a VESC.

This drive it's very light and intended to be hooked to the rear wheel. It requires some fabrication to hook up.

Here's a custom mid drive based on this motor to demonstrate what it's capable of:

If I had another trike to use this on, I'd buy it, even if the Castle controller is delicate. But I already have all the parts I want for the trikes that I have, and too limited an amount of time to get all them done anytime soon.
