Attention all DUI drivers !!!

For whatever reason (probably cost), stinking gas bikes seen to be the runaway favorite of the revoked-license drunk crowd. I don't know what would take for electric bikes to catch up with stinkers in that regard.

I once got a warning from a gas bike forum just for asking politely how many of the participants had adopted motorized bikes because they'd lost their driver's licenses. Evidently they're a bit sensitive about that.

I lost my drivers license to DUI and now have to ride an electric bike by force. I am currently riding a pedego cruiser I got on craigslist but all my research has led me here to build something that can keep up with traffic.

I have no license for a year and need an affordable way to get to work.

Blue Ice - People make mistakes, its just time to live and learn and move on in life. One year will fly by then you will have to deal with fines and a sky high insurance rate for a few years. I think a small percentage of DUI'ers still drive whether its under their company's license plate, spouse's/friends/family plate or if they just incorporate a shell company to do that. I dont think they realize the ramifications of getting busted or getting into an accident while doing that because even if they have insurance on the vehicle, the unlicensed driver null-voids that insurance policy and you will face the consequences, legally & financially. Even if its 100% not your fault, you have no license and you were driving, its now 100% your fault. Just because someone gets pinched and their license is revoked doesn't mean they are cowards at all, they stepped up to the plate and took resposibility for their crime we are after all humans and humans make mistakes. The true cowards are the hit & runners, or the motor vehicles hitting pedestrians and bicyclists, and lets not forget the motorists who have no respect for the mentioned.

You don't say what part of the world you live in, but in all the parts of the USA I am aware of, an e-bike that can "keep up with traffic" is a motorcycle. Meaning you'd be driving a motorcycle on a suspended license if there were ever a problem-- an unregistered, unlicensed, uninspected, uninsured motorcycle.

To me, that sounds like inviting a raft of expensive problems for yourself. I wouldn't risk it. Stay legal, stay safe. 20mph will get you there.

That you lost your license suggests it wasn't the first offense? Best not get caught intoxicated on your bike, even the Pedego. But especially not on an illegal motorcycle.

1 year suggests its his first time, or depending on the country/state or province, there could be an offense window, like for example a 10 year window.

Just be glad its 1 year and not 0.00% or 0.02% BAC for mature drivers. Graduated/Learners its 0.00%.

Speaking of needing a bicycle (powered or not) because you cant drive a car for a while...DeWalt has a 20V heated jacket for construction workers. The guy I just wrote about uses a DC/DC converter so he can power his jacket from the main battery pack on his ebike.

hmm... even tho you work for greenmachine/electricbike.com have have you actually ever laid eyes on him irl?
can you be certain your employer isn't a woman with the emotional outbursts & the way 'he' so casually slips in & out of various personnas?
someone with balls would nut up & represent what he believes.

but i suppose we can give ashley the benefit of the doubt that she hasn't had anything to drink, innocent until proven guilty after all.
being eric's full time chauffeur since he lost his licence to dui she wouldn't want to risk it i guess.
it was just that the premise of the tv show is that all participants need to get drunk (including viewers) for drunk history to work.
sorry ashley jumping to conclusion like that.

so hope they haven't repealed innocent until proven guilty there yet (habeas corpus) like we have here in several provinces?
no trial, instant roadside conviction with immediate impounding of vehicles for drinking, drugs or speeding.
madd pushing for summary execution judge dredd style next.

Its guilty until proven innocent, you are correct.

Its a money maker and in their view for the safety of the public. Which I can't argue with. I'd love to know the statistics of repeat offenders as apposed to one time offenders, then see the regional and economic differences of each country Canada and USA.

Now with legalized weed, which in my belief I think Greenmachine or Eric I think his real name is..... smokes a lot of, but I judge based on looks & voice primarily, and his actions. But its no big deal to me, to each their own. I dont know if your comment is true or not that this man got pinched for drink driving as the brits like to call it. Maybe he is just a smart(er) man and realized he had a few brewski's and perhaps a few tokes and was level headed enough to have a designated driver. DUI's/DWI's are taken way more seriously down State side. Alberta is pretty weak in that regard. Here its 1, 3, 5, 10, life in a 10 year window, 0.08BAC with talk of reducing it to 0.05BAC, but also a driver control board made up of citizens to review each case and make suggestions like how long interlock is installed for. Not to sure what other hoops a convict has to do to drive again, fines for sure thats a given as its a money maker. Waaaay back when, when someone gets busted they were told to go straight home and MAYBE given a minimal token fine but they could still drive. Too many lives were being lost and it just increased. Now in Alberta on every corner there are liquor stores. In one area near Marlborough Mall there were literally 2 liquor stores side by side. Today I believe there is the same issue with the city permitting Subway's, Starbucks, Tim Hortons to be so close together. Maybe this is why TurdO is allowing in 50k Syrians, Canada needs workers! Its funny how the token terrorists in USA on that WTC day were all Saudi Arabians, yet Trump did not ban them the other day. Oil baby Oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric has plenty of friends, and plenty of enemies. If you don't like him? no problem, mate. However...he still has his license to drive. He recently posted a video of when he wiped out on a scooter, [as to why Ashley was driving]. In the title, he states he was drunk when he recorded that, so I take him at his word.

If anyone is going to post in a public forum that a specific ES member is a weed smoker who lost his driving license, with absolutely no evidence, that says a lot more about you than him.

hmm... even tho you work for greenmachine/electricbike.com have have you actually ever laid eyes on him irl?

For the next question, have I met him In Real Life / IRL?

ebike industry people I have met irl:

Eric, Luna Cycles
Justin, ebikes.ca / Grin
Paul, em3ev
Jason, ebike-kit.com
Court, electric bike report
Terry, Pedego

I dare anyone to find anything that I have ever written about any of them that was negative.

He's just got that look about him with the dread locks, and that voice. Its prejudice for sure, judging a book by its cover. Its neiether here nor ther. I dont care if he does or doesnt. Liofe is based n judging people, and I just did I admit it.

There was a rich kid in Toronto that did some carnage.

Sept. 2015
Marco Muzzo, 29, is charged with four counts of impaired driving causing death for a collision in Vaughan on Sunday afternoon that killed siblings Daniel Neville-Lake, 9, Harrison Neville-Lake, 5, and Milagros (Milly) Neville-Lake, 2, and their grandfather, Gary Neville, 65.

Two women, Josephina Frias and Neriza Neville, were taken to hospital in serious condition, but their condition was later upgraded to stable and both are expected to survive, police said.

Four counts of impaired driving causing death.
Four counts of driving over the legal limit.
Four counts of dangerous driving causing death.
Two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
Two counts of driving above the legal limit causing bodily harm.
Two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Marco Muzzo gets 10-year sentence for drunk-driving crash that killed four

With credit for time served in custody since the Sept. 27 crash, Muzzo, 29, still has 9 years and 4 months left to serve.

He is eligible to apply for full parole after having served one-third of his sentence (about 3 years), and can apply for day parole six months prior to that (after having served about two-and-a-half-years).

Why so judgmental? If you believe in justice everybody is equal and viewed as equal. To judge prematurely undermines peace for respect for everybody. Do the world a favor, read and understand the Universal Deceleration of Human Rights. Baseless judgement makes me angry. End/Rant

Back on topic, I've worked with several DUI victims and their level of compassion for the perp is beyond amazing, truly inspiring. Some of them were victims of a system too inadequate to weed out repeat offenders.

This is pathetic and frocking repulsive. why is this BS alllowed to stand on a public forum?

It's public so people are entitled to free speech. The onus is on the community call out baseless speculative slander or discrimination. State the facts or accept that accusations should be derided. Sorry for off-topic but stick to the facts ppl. I'm off, it's too hot here and I need to cool down.
