Aussie 200 Watt Limit Thread

Ha!
That's not far from where I live, I should buy it as a community service to stop others getting hurt :p
As an aside, it actually DOES have torque arms, if you could call them that, they're shown in the pic.
Also that's the scooter variant direct from the factory and has 16mm axle with 12mm flats so there's no way you could begin to fit this to a bike without pressing out the axle and machining it down. It's also NOT used on a stealth bomber or fighter! (nor do these 2 models even use the same type of motor)

In summary, what an asshat

Someone is going to be a sad panda after they buy it...

I sent him a message telling him as much and confirming that it is NOT stealth motor and that he's going to end up with a disgruntled buyer when they find it wont fit anything they own.
He seems to have updated the listing now saying it's "similar" to the stealth bomber but still doesn't elaborate that it aint gonna fit anything

The one bid isn't you is it Architectonic ?

He he. Expect us.

aaand the one bid on it has been retracted.
Our work here is done

He replied to me saying to read his reply on the listing and that I fall into that category. Apparently he's suggesting I'm either smart and buy his motor and make it work or I'm dumb and should buy a $12,000 stealth (seems he's quoting 2 grand more than what stealth do, making his motor all the more a bargain :p )

ooow, 2 more emails a minute apart, I think I've upset him
Transcript for lulz;

Hyena: I own a stealth and have built other high powered ebikes with these motors which is how I know about the axles etc. It cost me a fair bit to have mine machined down to fit the stealth which is why I wanted to let you know. It doesn't bother me, just trying to prevent you ending up with a pissed off buyer who can't use the motor based on the info in your initial listing.

SandyVag: Piss off , go get a grinder and machine the frame space or the axle its not rocket science. It's an electric bike , don't bid on my item I won't sell it to you for a billion bux

1 minute later

SandyVag: You own a stealth what you want me to do for you ? A clap don't message I have serious buyers and won't waste my time on idiots who pay $12000 for a bike that's worth $1000

Gee, I hope no one else bothers him with questions.
It looks like those other serious buyers are tripping over themselves in a bidding war

Project Vendetta.

BYO Lulz.

It'd be a pity if someone created a fake account and bid $12,000 for it, then never completed, wouldn't it? :p

Not that I'm advocating anyone doing that.

I couldn't help but message Alex and ask him if it had torque arms.
Nothing more annoying than a persistent little kid with the same question.

Or a dozen.

I wonder if it'd fit on a carbon fibre road bike ?
Or a kmart kids bike ?
Or my grandma's tricycle. She's getting a bit old now and her balance aint so good no more, and some of those hills where she lives are just too hard for her to pedal up

Bwahaha.

I don't think he likes me.

"go pay $1500 for a small one man" was the response

Pay $1500 for a small torque arm ??

Someene needs to ask if this will fit a stealth fighter seeing as that's what he's advertising it for.

I have replied, I wonder if he'll keep playing. I hope so, this could be some David Thorne type shit. hehe

"LOL, I wasn't bragging about owning a stealth, though I'm curious where you get this recurring figure of $12000 considering their most expensive model is $10,000. Still that's alot for a clever bloke with an angle grinder like you. Obviously not too clever though otherwise you'd have done it yourself instead of abandoning the project.
BTW, your description is still wrong, this is not a hubzilla V3. Having an axle incompatible for bicycle use proves this. I guess you could say it's similar to the hubzilla. You could also say it's similar to the motor used in the Tesla electric car, but make sure you tell them that only idiots would pay $120,000 for a car that's worth $10,000.
Anyway I wont waste any more of your time, you're obviously very busy with all those serious buyers tripping over themselves in a bidding war. "

David Thorne. Lol.

I asked what sort of battery he recommends. Ha.

I've decided to further channel my inner David Thorne

His reply:

"Nah I'm the idiot who payed $10,000 for a bicycle that one with a little brains can build for less than $1k lol, then again your smarter because machining or grinding the axle is not worth $9000 in savings, now if your not gonna bid be gone. I will and can build this if it doesn't get the price I want, I got it because I was suspended license, now that suspension is over , no longer need the project"

My reply:

"I actually paid $3000 for my current stealth fighter but wow if you say you can build me one for under $1000 that's great. If I sell my fighter could you build me 2 for $3000 ? You can keep the extra $1000 as profit once you pay for angle grinder discs and what ever other costs you incur.

I was going to bid but in your previous message you imposed a reserve of $1,000,000 which I think is a bit steep. If you agree that your response was a bit harsh and will let me bid at the current amount then I will reconsider.

That's no good about your license, what did you do wrong ? I got a parking fine once, it really sucked. "

OK we know the guy is full of shit. That's not uncommon on eBay. The eBay rule is " can I afford to lose x dollars if it turns to goat turds".

What does something like this go for from someone reputable?
What was it's intended application? If it's the scooter version what scooter?
At least that way we can judge if it is a bargain.

if it snapps your dropouts, Torque to the Arm!

A sign on one of my local bike paths.
The area is frequented by joggers, who ironically run at speeds around double what they're suggesting bikes should do!
