hey guys, I'm posting this because i can't seem to get much help in the way of Facebook or the online white pages.
I'm looking for people that ride the bike scene in Australia, not the out of the box ones but the hotted up "off road" ones. My problem is this.

Recently iv been doing a DIY project to make a fat tyre front wheel electric drift trike and have had a lot of problem sourcing parts. So far iv gotten a Magic pie 3 hub laced it to the fat bike tyre, got the batteries charger wired it all up to find that the controller or hall sensors are buggered. iv tested all the phase wires and they are all good so i know its not the hub motor itself, but I can't seem to find much info on testing the hall sensors.

My second problem is this. with the Aussie dollar the way it is at the moment I'm having trouble justifying and finding the money to be able to afford a basic 12fet 100v lyen or infenion controller or even one from em3 because with postage overseas it comes to like $260. I'm wondering if anyone in Australia knows of a store or an individual who would have a controller that can run anywhere from 48v-72v and handle 40A continuous for a cheaper price as the closest iv found without postage only does 48v 25A and no more for $220.. Any help at all would be great! or if anyone knows any Facebook groups in Australia that deal with extreme modding of bikes as i can't find any. thanks heaps guys! :D

There's heaps mate, just do a search. As far as vendors there are a few. Samd (on here) i know sells a few controllers for a lot less than $260!!, shoot him a pm or contact ballarat ebikes. He'll sort you out. Depending on location there are others

The magic pie 3 should come with an internal controller stock. Have you bypassed this and if so can you post a picture of how your wiring is connected?

+1 for Samd, great service and very reasonable prices. I

thanks for helping guys, na haven't bypassed the internal controller just have it all apart at the moment because i think it has buggered up so I'm thinking about getting an external one that will do more volts and amps for when i wanna go faster in the future but still all wired up, thinking about putting in bigger phase wires while i do, il upload a few pics in a minute, is SamD the bloke that runs ballarat ebikes? i inboxed him via Facebook the other day about it but not sure if he misread or not. https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t34.0-12/12833372_1154014051289080_1309699286_n.jpg?oh=8542e4b02e80df8290621c2a2d7e1590&oe=56E2983E

it'll handle peaks of almost 6kw at 58V if you need it to which i'd love to see on a drift trike haha

you got Facebook mate? head on over and join our group, i think you would add some pretty good ideas and help in the group as I'm one of two electric ones on the page and we have a bloke who sells fat bikes and sets up bikes he runs a shop up queensland in gympie. its "Motorized drift trikes Australia." its the group not the page as i stopped using that. but yeah i couldn't go past a controller for that price. and yeah US dollar to ours is shocking lately i had no idea it was so low till i went to the currency exchange converter on google haha. you should definitely build one man.. if you think mines cool, type into youtube "D3 drift trike" it will blow your mind haha

haha i was just looking at them

and i seem to have a spare controller.....

hahaha just view your pictures, i saw the first one and was like "yeah he could get by by telling the cops it was legal" second pic "haha yeah your screwed with that excuse"

you should definitely do it man, i had a petrol one and it was heaps of fun... can't wait to try out this electric one
