Bafang BBS02 - need recommendations for full suspension bike

Most new full suspension mountain bikes have press fit bottom brackets that are incompatible with the std BBS02.
Can anyone recommend some bikes that will work without modification?
I am hoping to find the right bike at around $1200-1500.

Here is my eccentric favorite.
I like the late 1990's GT LTS 1 2 and 3 in large 20 inch size with the straight seat post tube. Those frames were hand built in the USA out of high quality 6000 and 7000 series aluminum tubing.
They have an entirely uncluttered triangle for a roomy custom battery box. They can be had on Ebay as a bare frame or a whole bike. I just scored this one for a MXUS 3000 build. They came stock with Rockshox Deluxe OEM units or higher end Rockshox with multiple adjustments. If you do not need the big triangle, there is a GT LTS frame with a high end rockshox shock for $60 with $70 shipping on Ebay right now(second link). It comes with a new $100 headset and more. Avoid the later Elastomer sprung GT frames.

Ideally would be an all-mountain bike with 130mm travel+.

I just bought a 2004 Santa Cruz Blur full suspension for my BBS02 build.
looks like the motor should fit with minimal modification. BB is 68mm.
The large size bottle battery fits inside the frame (with only a 1/4 inch to spare!)
so it should be a well balanced build when done : )
I will post pix when done.

Any issues fitting the BBS02 motor in the Blur's bottom bracket? mods needed?

None, it slips right in the aluminum bb with plenty of clearance. Suspension pivots made tightening the lock nuts a bit difficult with the original nuts. With the current socket type lock nut, that clears the issue up nicely. Mine is a medium size and the large would give you more room for several factory made battery box options. It is a plush ride. Hard to find a better bike for this kit. My 9 going on ten year old grand son rides the hell out of it when he is in town. Can not reach the pedals enough to pedal comfy with the kinked seat post but just try to keep up with him just motoring. :lol:

Could you please tell me more on this.
You used some different locknuts other than the ones that came with the kit to secure the motor?
Did you need to add a spacer on the drive-side due to the inset on the Bafang case?

Current kits come with a external bb bearing style locknut wrench cutouts. Mine was the original with straight cutouts as on a classic style bb lock nut. I had to use a pin driver (punch) and mallet to set it snug. I used a 0.5mm shim on the case side. Standard LBS stuff. I believe the spacers that are used behind cassettes work. Many have gone without this but I was not happy how it sat on the bb shell without it. Any frame that does not have a small diameter proud surface at the bb face should use a small shim so it sits flush IMO.

I currently have my BBS02 installed on a Cannondale with std BB. No issues, works great. But will transfer the kit to my newly aquired SC Blur. I was concerned also about the flush face of the Blurs BB as it is also part of the pivot point, not allowing the BBS02 case to sit flush. You handled it nicely with the shim. How is the chain-line alignment on your Blur? Are you using the stock chain-wheel or a Lekkie or something else...

Chain line is passable. Fist gear is a bit off line but 3 on up work great on the stock 9 speed components. Stock chain is way too short but it still works and not worn out yet and may be why it never drops. It mostly runs 3rd to 7th gear unless I am going down hill and then 8th or (I hate to use it) 9th. I don't beat on it. It does not lend itself to that. It is just a all round medium speed commuter / cow trailer.
