Bafang controller gets hot

Just got myself a bafang cst 48v500w hub motor with 18a bafang controller. Everything is plug and play, but it shows error on computer that says error 06 that mean controller hot. I have to restart system to restore but it's very annoying to have this fault. Can someone help me with any solution For my problem?

Controller name is k1200 I think. It would be nice to have bigger controller for more power but I think the wiring will be problem. But maybe there is a wiring instructions somewhere?

When the conroller indicates the probkem, did youput a hand on it to feel how hot it is?

You can change to any controller as long as you buy the motor connector lead.

Could you provide aphoto of the K1200. I've searched many times in the past, but I've never found one yet.

This is the motor lead. You have to solder connectors to the phase wires.They should have some already with connectors at the controller end because they supply rhem with all their motors. Ask them.

The controller is i good vented place. It only need very little load to get the error. So the controller is useless for me right now.

Something is not right then. Sure you got the correct wire order? A false positive one will result in huge amps drawn with no load. Blows the controller if you ride it like that long.

No, it does not get hot when I try to touch it after that error occurs.

What do you mean with false positive?

If the controller doesn't actually get warm, it's unlikely that there'es anything wrong with your wiring or phase/hall combinations. The cause of your problem is more likely inside the controller. If you want to be sure, you need to measure the current. you can do it within 10% with a 10cm piece of 14g wire.Measure the current at full throttle with the wheel off the ground:

Sounds like I was on the wrong track. I thought the controller was getting very hot.

Sounds to me like maybe the fault is just the temp sensor reads wrong, and sends an error message when the controller is not hot.

False positive or false forward is when your phase or halls order is not correct, but the motor still runs forward and seems normal at first. It will draw huge power at light loads, making tons of heat in the controller. Usually you smell a rat, because at full throttle the motor runs slower than you expected. If,,, full throttle didn't blow your controller.

I got the controller to work now, It was my battery that had some bad soldering on it. With load it keept loosing voltage and is fixed now. the controller is working good now.

Is there a way to change some components inside controller to get higher Volt drive? So that it can hadle some more amp and volt?
