just did a search for bak on es forum, not much talk about them. Seems they are still making cells, and 'apparently' were making the cells for a123 for use in dewault........

They used to make cells for A123 up until 2007 but no longer do. This is related to them being sued by Hydro-Quebec for patent infringement together with Black&Decker and A123. They do not manufacture high discharge cells at this point of any kind, but plan to. You can read it all in all gory detail in their investor reports. They do make high quality (used by Asus) 18650 LiCo cells that sell for very attractive prices, something like $0.3/Wh. I'm tempted by those.

When they did make cells for A123 i tried to get some from them directly, but no luck. They would send all their production back to A123. No idea who is making cells for A123 now.
