some time ago i posted a request for translation of a chinese manual for the UN-A6 plus charger (which was left unanswered). all translations, videos, manuals you can find are in thai or chinese. maybe because this charger is not very well known in the western world.

es-member brerax collected an impressive amount of information about that charger and we exchanged info via pm. i thought it would be a good idea to share this info here (where google can find it as well).

there are many different types of this charger that all have very similar names. and you never know what exactly you will get when you order it, and which version is newer/better then another, or which one may be obsolete/not so feature rich.

and this is a good point: feature rich. not like the BC-168 which is very easy and straight forward to use, the UN-A6 is very confusing and complicated to use/configure. it has different modes and presets, and without a proper manual (and if WITH it) it's quite complicated to run.

especially with RC-LIPO you should know what your charger does and be sure that it does what you want!

so here comes the collected info which may be combined to a "real" manual some time in the future. everyone knowing this charger (and is maybe capable of reading chinese) is very welcome to join and contribute.

As izeman mentioned above we have had some discussion regarding trying to collect as much information as possible about the excellent UN-A6 charger (or maybe about the range of different versions of the UNRC balancing chargers since they seem to have much in common).

I had no idea how to describe the information I happened to have about my UN-A6 charger so yesterday I simply sat down with a black sheet and started typing. I ended up with a ten page document. I know that this might not be the best way to share information to a collective but that’s the way it ended up. I also don’t have any good ideas where to share this document so for the time being I will host this first pdf on my Google docs account.

Please read thought the pdf document and see if anyone of you can contribute with more information... or if anyone can correct any faulty information from my side. There are gaps regarding some features and there are also some features that I don’t have the possibility to test.

Please don’t comment on grammar, spelling or punctuation at this stage (this document is a fairly hasty work). If there is any interest in this description there is plenty of time to focus on those things later. Right now we are just scanning the interest from you people and also trying to gather more information.

I just learnt that the menus on the nine channel UNA9 Plus+ version works differently. On this charger there is only mode 0 and mode 1.

Here is a link to a translation of the Chinese UNA9 Plus+ manual made by yelong98 over at RC Groups:

skimmed through your 14 page document.
I didn't see if it said what I'm looking for. Sorry if I missed it.

- Two this UN-A6 chargers could be combined to compose one 12S charger and even share one input power.
why haven't they made a 10S...

Since you guy's seem to be the unaxxx gurus I thought you might be able to shed some truth on this.
Can you in face charge a higher series battery than the series output of the charger with two chargers hooked to the same power supply.
I know you can do it with two isolated power supplies.

i guess it will be hard to find an answer on this as you need two chargers. and i got only one left, so i can't help. and if i had two i wouldn't risk them ... another thing to take into consideration is, that chinese manufacturers tend to change internal/externals without notice, and when they copy they probably won't copy 1:1. so even if MY charger(s) will work, the ones you can buy now may not.

Hi there!

my name is Andy and I am a new member to this forum! I am trying to gather information about
the UN-A6 charger which is quite difficult. It may sound stupid to some of you, but I am not certain
whether it is possible to charge 4 cells parallel with this charger. The description always says
1 x 6S, 2 x 3S or 3 x 2S.
As this charger provides so many parameters to change, I think this is possible but I want to be
100% sure to not waste my money.

I would be more than happy if one of you guys could help me!

Thank you in advance!

Andy

Looking at the UN-A9 I am impressed with the build quality at least from its looks.
This charger must weigh twice as much as the BC168 or CB86, it feels incredibly chunky for its size.
I can't help but feel as long as its a good unit and I treat it right it should last a long time.

I am going to build a 18S battery pack with a 9S split in the middle setup and use this charger as my main charger.
