So we have all heard to never expect a battery to preform to 100% of its rated capacity, right?
I mean it says 8.2 amps, I should count my self lucky if I get 7 out of it, right?
Its just the way things are. Your date says she's 28, she's realy 34. your Girlfriend says she put gas in your car, she ment 2 gallons past the E. Your battery says its 8.2 amp hours, its useable for 6 or 7.

Well its just not true! Some of you may remember my battery. I'm the crazy one who runs 2 Lipos. 37 volts, 8.2 amps each, run in series for 74 volts, 8.2 amps. Its only 9 pounds, and I've been happy with it, despite the threat of explosions
And knowing you never get what you expect, I usualy planned my trips to use no more that 5 amps, incase I needed a reserve amp or two. Infact the most I've ever used was 6 amps, untill tonight.

Tonight I decide to try a speed run, setup on the 4012 at 74 volts, the bike does 25 easily. So I ride off to have some fun, and don't look at the Amp meter. around an hour later I'm almost home, and realize i've burned off 7.5 amps.
Needless to say I'm impressed, but I'm also still doing 23mph, so I'm evve more impressed. But it doesn't end there. I decide since I'm having so much fun anyway, i'll go around the block and see if the speed starts to drop. Around the block turned into around the park,, down to another block, across a field, and so forth. my top speed dropped to 22mph, and I decided to quit pressing my luck, Since I had just done the imposable. The pictures are the proof. 8.5 amps from an 8.2 amp battery, and it was still delivering 22mph from its original 25.

Yes, I do recomend Itselectric Lipo batteies!

Good report. How many miles did you end up going? How many miles on the packs so far?

Nice to see a conservatively rated battery.

Also, it would seem you have my shifters...

How much they cost ?
How much they are C rated ?

Maybe they are high power ( high C rated ) batteries and as a result you get more capacity at lower C load than their rated C ?

How much cycles they are claimed ?

I have maybe 15 charges on them, and around 250 miles. Just over the break in period for Lipo.

They were $425 each, but only rated for 20 amps. The BMC cuts out over that. My Cycle Analyst is set for 20 amps, and I hit it nearly every time I accelerate, but not noticably. They wouldn't be real usefull on a 5X motor, but on a 4X its about all the motor pulls, even on the 408 at 35+mph

When I got them, Ken at Itselectric had just got them in, so he didn't have cycle life or any specs for them yet. Lipo usualy are good for 300 to 500 cycles to 80%. And on a battery thats showing its usable at 105%, I'm not to worried. I knew I was trading life cycles for weight and size when I bought them. To me, its worth it. I'm getting more than 600 usable watts hours out of a 9 pound battery. Considering I was getting 60 usable what hours out of each of 4, 8.8 pound SLA batterys before this, I'm not worried at all. :D

Maybe this DB or CA is not as accurate as people think it is. There would be no way of knowing right? Not many people have access to better device to check. People just accept it as being 100% accurate and play dumb. I would like to know what is the % deviation given by the manufacture. It must say in the directions. Does anyone have the directions? I know people in here like it and thats fine but just want to know what it says in the directions.
