I have ordered some lifepo4 cells for a 12v ups battery.

I have another 24V ups.

What do you think will be more durable and recommended?

8s chemistry lifepo4
or 7s chemistry li-ion

It would be to replace two sealed lead acid 12v 7ah batteries.

Is there a life difference between lead and lithium batteries, for use in an ups, where the batteries are almost never discharged ?

All other things being equal, I would get the LiFePo4 batteries. I've had two Ping packs for 7 and 6 years, and they are still fine. I would try to set it up so they are only charged to about 80% of full capacity if possible. Lithium batteries are fine with sitting unused, but not so fine about sitting at 100% charge for long periods.

I don't know how to load 80%.

The ups charge up to 13.6V or 27.2v, it seems to me that the charging voltage is not adjustable. This is 3.4V per cell, which is practically 100% charge.

LFP 8S for sure.

Any voltage between 3.3 and 3.5Vpc would be fine.

Best for longevity to unplug it when the bank does not need discharging, plug it back in like once every week or so overnight.

But just leaving it plugged in will still last a decade or more
