Hi all,
Gathering all the parts of my board and making plans, I was wondering whether it is better to put the batteries close the the front or the rear of the board ?
I have seen setups with both configurations.
What is your opinion and why ?

Thanks for your help

I think batteries on the rear side if they are heavy are better. This is in-case you drop your board before riding like I do. I prefer the batteries on the bottom. As they'll drop from 4-5" off the ground versus maybe 15-18" from the top of the deck if I was to drop it.

If you lay your board gently on the floor then I guess it doesn't matter at all.

I like mine at the front of the board. Properly secured, i think it's safe front or back. I prefer front with the ESC at the back, so the middle of the board is free/clear (except wire extension to ESC).

If you go over something the center is the most likely to get hit/damaged. So i try to leave that area open. Curb, speedbump, etc.

here's my updated setup on GF's board:

batteries are each two 3m velcro strips, with two thin velcro wrap strips front/back under the velcro adhered to the deck.

still a work in progress - i'll move the Rx at some point. Ideally i'd router in the channel for cables to protect those in the center as well. In the meantime hitting a cable is easily replaced, vs hitting the battery pack (which i need to protect better i know). Kydex formed cover soon.
