I think I am done twisting around the duct tape pack I got fro Ping ...

I thought I'd show the finished batt, and maybe start a picture post thread.

I used an old 50 BMG ammo can ...and drilled some holes in it for the chassis mount XLR connector, the crystalyte keyed on-off switch, and a hole in the top for the main power ( used a spark plug boot for a grommet ). The fuse holder is on the outside sectionof the main power positive side ... can be replaced without opening the can.

Add a quick and dirty coat of black paint, stick a fork in it, and call it done.

Connections inside are Anderson powerpoles stuck together with some heatshrink ... if I want to swap out the power pack at some future date, I can just cut the heatshrink and unplug everything and lift the duct-tape pack out.

Here is the charger side:

And here is a look at the inside:

Looks good. How's it going to mount?

Ammo cans make great battery boxes. They come in a lot of sizes, heavy duty, watertight, easy to paint, cut, weld and drill. And they're cheap.

Bungie cords work just fine. I could do something complicated with angle irons, but why?

Since the box is steel, it is easy to weld mounting tabs for the cords, or any quick release you want.
