I lost my bms on my ping 48v battery. I have decided to try to bottom balance cells and use 2 celllog8s to monitor cells while charging and draining. Celllogs got output for alarm signal. I would like to use this signal to cut off battery if there is derivation between cells or some other problem celllog notices.

Problem is i dont know how to use signal to cut of the battery. Should i use mosfets? Or solidstate relay i have already at hand?
I would also like to wire a key switch to battery....

There is a person who has done this in the past, however the downside of the cellog 8S is that it drains power from a few cells and this can lead to disbalancing the battery.

This would be something you'd need to connect and disconnect frequently unless you have the ability to redesign the power supply for the cellLog 8s modules.

Thats interesting to know. Ill look into it. Thanks for the info...
Actually i remember that cellog interfered charging prosess before when it was attached, but i didnt think it would be so poorly designed...

Maybe Ill charge the cells with celllog to check now and then and just use the battery without bms until i get a new one from ping...

Consider what the application is.
It's used to check a battery for a few seconds, then disconnect.

It's rather unfortunate because it looks like the perfect device for our use otherwise.

What size is your battery ah ? If 20 or 15ah it's doable and if you have a 20 or 22amp controller. It is harder if you over discharging the Ping with a 40amp controller. I would just charge to 3.5v without bms or 56volts and monitor. Can discharge to 2.8v and can last along time. You are the bms so work hard. If you discharge to low it will unbalance. I have voltpheaks lifepo4 single cell charger and a 12v car brake to balance or a 8s balance charger. More money.
